We stayed here as part of a Ladies Festival Weekend. The whole weekend was great. The hotel lovely, staff friendly attentive and would do anything to help.

The food throughout the weekend was lovely.

Already thinking about going back.

My only gripe would be the bedding. Sheets and blankets? Please get duvets.

How lovely to visit such a beautiful hotel, run by a family that really know how to look after their guests. When I say family, this hotel is run by the Kirby Family, but even though there are a couple of family members working in the hotel, the rest of the staff also welcomed us like an extended family and certainly not in an overbearing way. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into the hotel and swiftly checked in and made ourselves at home.
We settled into our room (which had very recently been renovated - and looked and felt very smart and fresh). Teas and Coffees provided of course from a tray on the dressing table, we sat and enjoyed the view from this perfectly appointed hotel across the bay and to the pier. The room had been prepared with care and little attentions to detail were certainly not overlooked by us, from the embroidered towels to the crisp linen on the bed, it was all good...
Once we had soaked in the restful and comfortable surroundings of our room, we ventured to the Langhams Bar, which was spacious, light and welcoming. We savoured a cappuccino each and my wife had a homemade shortbread, whilst I tucked into one of their flapjacks...!!! A must for anyone with a sweet tooth! Interestingly, there was a group of ladies in the bar having "Grand Afternoon Tea", which looked absolutely fabulous but having savoured our sweet treats, we decided to save that for another day! It did look good though and the selection of sandwiches and cakes was remarkable and certainly up there with the lavish afternoon teas we have experienced with Cunard & Oceania Cruises.
After a long stroll down the promenade we came back and freshened up for dinner. Another welcoming and enjoyable experience followed as we dined in the conservatory restaurant annexed to the main restaurant. I do believe it's one of the very few hotels on the seafront that has a restaurant directly on the front overlooking the sea and the experience, service, food and atmosphere was lovely.
After a very comfortable nights sleep and another positive experience in the restaurant over breakfast (which is all cooked to order - which is so much better than queuing up at a badly replenished buffet which so many other hotels do), it was time to check out.
Big praise for the wait & kitchen staff, housekeeping persons and everyone at the hotel that made our stay a great one...until the next time...Thanks a lot!

We attended The Langhams "Evening with the Crooners" with friends and decided to take advantage of the B&B package offered for our first stay here. We had a great evening, the entertainment from Duality during the meal and after from Dean Ager was enjoyable and the 4 course meal was very good. Staff were attentive and friendly and efficiently handled meal service for a full restaurant. Our inland room was modern, well maintained and very clean, with excellent bathroom facilities. The room is a reasonable size for 2 people and had everything you could need with seating for 2, a good selection of hot drinks, good linens and towels. The a la carte breakfast served in the conservatory offered a wide selection of options, and the staff were flexible for special requests, again well cooked and presented. Our first stay certainly didn't disappoint and we'll be back.

We were warmly welcomed as a group into the hotel, by the owner and family. Home made cake on arrival while the bags were taken to the room - just the start of the eating fest!
The food throughout the stay (5 days) was excellent, plentiful, hot with good choices (menus issued the previous night) and Father Christmas turned up with gifts and the alcohol flowed. Bar prices were not exorbitant and service was efficient.
The meal times were a little restrictive but as we were a group it was obviously the best way to do it, meaning there was not a lot of waiting time and the private guests were not inconvenienced either.
The rooms were clean and well equipped - just be aware that some of the rooms have a couple of steps directly outside - in theory they are accessible to all but might be a little bit difficult if it is a disabled guest - double check before arrival - the family are extremely helpful. There are some stunning seaview rooms with balconies.
Entertainment is provided for guests; music each night and the ubiquitous bingo - love it and always popular - there was a good turn out....
The hotel is on the promenade and about a 10 minute level stroll from the bandstand and a 20 minute walk to the town centre...buses and taxis are on hand.
I look forward to Christmas 2017...:)

A very nice place for a short getaway. The room was very nice clean tidy. Well stocked with tea coffee shampoos ect. Bathroom slippers and robes. The food we had was superb waiters were friendly and polite. We sat in the comfortable bar for a drink in the evening. The hotel was very clean throughout staff friendly and helpful. A great breakfast in the morning fruit or cereal followed by a full English toast and a selection of preserves to follow. The cost was also very reasonable.

A friend and I spent one night at this hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful, they didn't have the single rooms we booked but upgraded us to doubles at no extra cost, room was very clean and the shower room was exceptional. The food was lovely and not expensive, would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good hotel at a very reasonable cost.

One can always tell when an owner/manager runs a tight ship. It was obvious in The Langham. Excellent service, spacious clean rooms, delicious breakfast and great location. Happy to recommend this hotel and Eastbourne is a much nicer town to spend a night than in big brother Brighton. A very well run hotel.

All the staff made us feel so welcome yesterday, when my family and I held my mother's funeral reception at The Langham. We had travelled from Norfolk and so we were grateful to find the staff so helpful both before and after the reception. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet style food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed being in such a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful sea views. We can't thank you enough.

I have just spent my third Christmas at The Langham and it was great. The owners Neil and Wendy make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive. My friend and I were in rooms 119 and 123 which were comfortable. The only point I would make is that because they are single rooms and space is limited there is nowhere to put your suitcase. We have already booked to spend Christmas again at The Langham.

we have just spent Christmas + one extra night at The Langham hotel, we enjoyed our stay very much our room (331) was a superior sea view with 3 windows that gave a full promenade vista, the room was spacious with a good sized bathroom with lovely walk in shower, the food at the hotel was very good made even better by the delightful young lady that looked after us during our stay, her name is elly and she is from Greece a credit to the hotel. during our Christmas stay we were given little gifts each night on our return to our room which were very welcome. we would stay at the Langham again without reservation.

Pot of tea, or cup of filter coffee and a flapjack for less than £2.50 seems to be highly popular order...ordering at the bar and then taking a number to be served at table...a pretty slow process, it has to be said. Queues at the bar can be irritating. That said, it is friendly enough, the drinks are good enough, the seating comfy enough and the vibe is good. Clientele is a mixture of ages and stages, but mainly older folk. A sun terrace overlooking the road and prom is not as bad as it sounds. Popular and low-level buzzy. Not at all bad. A friend stayed at the hotel part, and liked the food and staff too...Not sophisticated, but friendly and welcoming. One to have along with others in the repertoire of local cafes.
