Peaceful formal gardens with the brick built castle and moat as a backdrop. Grass maze and small children's play area. Loved the little garden at the folly. Attractive woodland walks.

A picturesque castle surrounded by beautifully kept gardens.

This place offers a lovely day out with walks that extend through the castle grounds. There is plenty to entertain both the young and the old, with a small park, benches situated throughout for peaceful rests, a rope maze, woods for exploring, a folly, a cafe, picnic benches, toilet facilities and much more.

The staff too are all knowledgeable and very friendly, which made the day that little bit more special. Thank you.

Our visiting group had a mixed age range from 8 years up to the very wise πŸ˜‰. We all had a lovely time and would most definitely recommend it to others.

Herstmonceux Castle, apparently, is one of the oldest significant brick buildings still standing in England!
From 1994, it has become the Queen's International Study Centre, which was renamed to the Bader International Study Centre.
An amazingly beautiful place to visit for sure!
Well kept garden which makes you to forget about anything bothering you at that time.
Kids will be occupied there with the maze!
Very clean toilets.
At the cafe you can buy snacks and drinks.
We have spend really great time there and would recommend it to all our friends.

An absolutely stunning Castle and grounds. We spent 4hrs there with our 5 year old and had a great time - the only reason we left was because we had to get home for visitors!

The giant swing, 300 year old trees, old house, (which I assume was the gardeners or maid quarters) playground and castle and walks where breathtaking.

Coming from Nottingham Castle way as a child, this is a place that’s right up there for me.

Beautiful setting for some lovely gardens and woodland walks. The gardens and plants were well labelled which greatly increased the interest. Cafe a bit of a disappointment but a great place for a picnic.
