Didn't get to go inside as it was late and was closed. It was amazing to look outside and round the gardens.

A hidden gem in East Sussex, beautiful gardens and grounds. Perfect for a lazy Sunday picnic. Wonderful history abounds the castle. Unfortunately internal tours are limited during Covid. So check before arriving, however the gardens are a lovely visit on their own. Having had our wedding their 22 years ago I'm probably a little biased. 😄🥂

Beautifully laid out and loads to discover. Favourite was the bonfire, the ancient chestnuts and secret garden, oh and the stunning reflections in the moat!

It's nice place if the weather is good you enjoy the experience. Not 5 stars as you can't go in the castle but only to its beautiful gardens

Herstmonceux Castle is closer to the castle of fairy tales than most I've seen in England. Restored lovingly by doting owners in the last century with gorgeous gardens, surrounding woodland and ancient chestnut trees. Just choose a sunny day and bring a picnic...

A lovely castle complete with moat. Although we could only visit the grounds we enjoyed our time here. Some nice walks through the surrounding woods. Gardens were pretty too - surprised at how much colour there was considering we visited in September . The reflections of the castle in the moat were amazing giving us some great photos.
