Three couples agreed that we'd enjoyed a splendid evening in Gr/eat. Clean, modern, good ambience, delightful service; importantly excellent food and wine. We'll definitely return.

So tonight my other half and I decided to eat out. We duly checked tripadvisor for the latest top runners in Eastbourne and came across Gr/Eat. The reviews looked good and having recently returned from mainland Greece we decided to give it a go,
Having sat down we were presented with the menu which consists of various breads with familiar dips including hummus, tzatziki. Meze, and main courses including souvlaki, mousakka etc.
At the top of the menu was an offer for Greek Meze which comprises of a selection of their menu dishes across starter, main course and dessert for £19.90 per person. We decided to order this and were furnished with some lovely starters. A selection of 3 dips (Tzatziki, Hummus, Taramosalata) with fresh flat bread.
Greek SaladFasolia Fournou - Giant Beans
Saramadakia - Vine leaves stuffed with rice and herbsZamponotiropitakia - Ham, Spinach and cheese filo triangles
Feta Sousami - Sesame covered feta, deep friend and topped with greek honey
This was followed by some delicious pork and chicken souvlaki and spicy red sauce beef with peppers, topped with feta cheese and served with rice.
Dessert was baklava and also another pasty type dessert servied with Ice cream.
All I can say is wow! Everything was fresh, pipping hot if applicable and tasted delicious and authentic. We both came away feeling full and felt it was value for money. The restaurant has not been crammed with tables which gives you a nice feeling of space to enjoy your meal, and this combined with the simple decor makes it a very enjoyable eating experience. By day it runs as a deli/coffee shop, and by night a restaurant.
This is a great addition to the Eastbourne restaurant scene and somewhere I would recommend if you are looking for some authentic greek food. Great job guys!

A fantastic night was had by all at this lovely Greek restaurant in Eastbourne town centre. It was meze for all on the menu as it was bazouki night which on the whole would have been good for vegetarians too. I can't say it was as good as one you would get in Greece but very nice all the same. The dancing by the customers went outside into the street a couple of times which added to a lovely evening.

We had a superb meal here after the tennis. Great service, very attentive, sat out in the sunshine with sea air. The evening allows for sunshine on that side of the street but inside is warm and Greek atmosphere. Take yourself to Greece for a meal here. Fabulous fresh, succulent chicken souvlaki highly recommended comes with fresh chips. Enjoy but avoid moussaka

Just happened to be passing and thought we'd give it a try, well we weren't disappointed, fresh vibrant salad, calamari cooked to perfection and the house white wine was to die for, all in all a little gem

Visited with family. Great food, great service, authentic Greek food at its best. Didn't know what to choose from the menu so had the meze. Wasn't disappointed at all. Everything was delicious and was enjoyed by all. Can't wait for my next visit. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

As other reviews have commented this is a new star amongst the burgeoning Eastbourne restaurant scene. The restaurant isn't big but that helps to heighten the ambiance coupled with the staff who are fun and knowledgeable. The food is just so good the Meze especially so the courses just kept on coming. Also a special mention to the house red wine which was plain excellent. Would I go back? Absolutely!

Went with friends and found a little gem in heart of Eastbourne, freshly prepared food and owner/chef v passionate about producing best quality food. Ideal for groups or families and certainly if you visiting Eastbourne give it a try. Highly recommended.

Went with friends and had a fab night. Menu not overly busy which was a bonus. Freshly cooked to order. We all had a starter and shared a bite. Beetroot dip was divine! Chicken slouvaki transported us to a taverna in Kioni. Will return without hesitation and can highly recommend. Staff were fabulous. Attentive and relaxed service. Excellent wine choice and a bonus to have a chilled Mythos.

We were off to see 'The Bodyguard' musical and needed to grab something to eat really quickly. Being Cyprus born, I always keep an eye out for any Greek/Cypriot restaurants and just stumbled across this place. Absolutely loved it. They have got the decor spot on. The food was so tasty. The service wonderful. Sadly, we were in a rush so just main courses. Mine was fresh pasta on a bed of the most tender beef - very similar to a Pasticio but this was a recepe from Crete. Very resonably priced food. Quality food. We are due to meet friends in a few weeks and we are coming here. Highly recommended. And The Bodyguard was great. Alexandra Burke was superb. ..

We had a number of salads and dips plus an entree as a light meal. Fabulous! The staff was charming and very helpful even though our two languages weren't always clicking. I was surprised to learn that they had been open only a few months because they seemed very experienced. It was a great meal, extremely reasonable prices and wonderful vibe.

If you are in Eastbourne this place should be high on your list, the food is great, staff excellent plus pure Greek atmosphere.The Meze was the top item with dish after dish. The drinks are reasonable, also try the Greek Coffee with Metals.

Lovely place with very happy friendly staff and top notch food. The Greek Meze was delicious and fresh and we thought it would never end. Really great value for money and the food was better than we've had in Greece. Definitely a regular lunch/dinner stop from now.

Went on a Saturday night - we booked which I would advise as it became very busy. Two of us had the mezze and two of us went a la carte. The food and welcome is genuinely Greek and was simply lovely. The mezze seemed like a bit of almost everything and just kept coming. The two main meals that came up at the end were a bit of a surprise as we thought we'd finished. Souvlaki, proper Greek chips, real taramasalata and white beans were highlights but it was all very good. The service was very efficient and friendly. I wish I lived locally, I'd come regularly.

Popped in per chance. Ordered a few tapas style dishes. Food was tasty, fresh and the service excellent. My only regret was not ordering more !!!! Coming again

The food is probably the best Greek food I have eaten in a restaurant - including in Greece. As advertised, the food is fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. The premises are smart and the addition of the deli selling Greek products is a nice touch. The negatives are that generally the portion sizes are small and so, despite ordering an array of dishes, my partner and I left hungry! Also, because there were only two waiters, there were very long waits between the courses. Finally, the dishes are expensive. I don't think that one chicken souvlaki is worth ten pounds - no matter how well cooked and presented it is! Despite the negatives, however, it was a very good dining experience and we will certainly eat there again.

At last, a brilliant boost for the Eastbourne restaurant scene. A Bright, contemporary restaurant with an open view kitchen, serving homemade authentic Greek dishes.
The Greek Meze is plate after plate of fantastically delicious food that just keeps coming until you can barely move off the chair. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and very reasonable prices with vegetarian meals too. So all in all perfect for get-togethers with family and friends. Gr/Eat is now permanently on my list of favourite places to eat.
