First time at the Bandstand and we both loved it, comfortable seating and a "bar" result. It was not far from the hotel so when the concert was over we had a pleasant walk back.

Fun night out watching music in the open air - remember blankets though as it gets cold even on a nice evening!

A lovely 2 hour concert with The Sussex Brass Band which was meant to culminate with a spectacular firework display to Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture. Unfortunately the fireworks were cancelled because the Eastbourne Pier was partially destroyed by a huge fire that afternoon. It was heartbreaking.I think everyone including the band was in a daze and shocked but well done for letting the concert go on ! I did enjoy the music - thanks.

Ben and Mrs Too attended a performance here on the Saturday night before we left for home, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a polished and dynamic “Tribute to Tom Jones” which began at 8PM and was still going strong when we left at 9:30 as the evening chill found us unprepared.

“Early Bird” tickets for evening performances sell for seven and a half pounds (adults) and certainly provide value received several times over. For an eight o’clock performance, these are on sale until 6:00 the same afternoon. There appear to be regular afternoon shows as well, consisting of traditional music for band.

The Bandstand has a web site describing seating, scheduled attractions, directions, etc. If you enjoy music, any kind of music, do investigate this venue. There is a stand where beer and snacks can be bought. Do, however, be aware of the 20 pence turnstile at the loos, so be sure to tote some change. As well, prepare for cooler air from the beach as the evening wears on. An attraction like this at these prices is a rare bird indeed.

We visited bandstand yesterday in the evening for Buddy Holly Tribute Show. Warm summer evening, nice atmosphere, plenty couples dancing in front of stand enjoying rock and roll songs. We joined them, so we didn't need to come early to have good sits. Drinks available for purchase in the bar. Highly recommended attraction for visit, if you are in Eastbourne.

Eastbourne is fortunate to have a seaside bandstand. The newly refurbished bandstand has a very comprehensive programme of events ranging from the very popular Tribute Nights to Gilbert and Sullivan. I attended the local Gilbert and Sullivan Society's performance on Monday 21 July which was much appreciated by the audience. The staff are very helpful.

If you are going to Eastbourne think about visiting the bandstand and don't be put off by bad weather as there is shelter for the performers and a coverered area for spectators in case of rain or high winds!

The band stand is a very striking building, with a lot of outdoor seating. During the summer season there is a great variety of entertainments offered, ranging from tribute shows to band proms concerts (which we enjoyed). There is a bar, and a friendly ticket/information shop.

Went last night to see Helen Ward Jackson as Adele tribute. She was terrific, as were the backing singers and band. Great venue, great evening.

Just seen the beached boys here .fantastic show! It rained all evening but this did not make a bit of difference.we arrived early and were able to get seats undercover .great atmosphere and for £7.50
You could not fault it . One tip get food before you go in as there is nothing inside and eastbourne food outlets seem to close at 9.30 !

Went to see the Storm the Electric Strings show. They were really good. Thyey play some classical pieces with a modern twist. The only downer in the show was that the bass in the first half of the show was excessively loud. They sorted it out during the interval though.
The midges were a nuisance and they spoiled the show for me, but I cannot blame the artists for that.

We went to see the U2 tribute band last night and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. There is plenty of seating but you should arrive reasonably early if you want the best view or to sit under cover. There was also an on site bar which charged around £3.60 a pint.

Brilliant people were up dancing from the start, sound could be better though. Good bar and not expensive. This is a summer activity so could run for longer in my opinion, people were just getting really into the swing of things when the end was forced upon us.

Stayed in Eastbourne on business, I saw the bandstand from my bedroom window, looking beautiful as with the whole of the sea front vista. I didn't realise that the band played every Wednesday evening. I was sitting in my room working. The band started to play, I sat on the windowsill, and listened to the whole performance, magical, many contemporary tunes. At 10pm, the fabulous firework display. A delightful distraction.

Some bandstand which does Eastbourne proud. Well-kept, flower beds beautiful and lots of seats, some under shelter from wind and rain. We had a lovely, fun, evening with the Gilbert & Sullivan Society. We were only in Eastbourne for two nights and unfortunately missed the 1812 evening.

Although we didn't sit and watch the band playing as it wasn't our kind of music the venue is great and they have some great tribute bands due to play

Would have enjoyed the show better except for the high price of £9 per head entrance charge. Majority of visitors are pensionaires and cannot afford this high entrance fee. The tribute band played quite well.

Takes one back to the good old days. A welcome sight on the Eastbourne promenade with the sea as a backdrop. Definitely a part of the Eastbourne scenery not to be missed.

The rain! Although seating available underneath, the tea warmed us up - available at the bar (alcohol served too)
