Have been to the bandstand many times for concerts. Its a great environment for such events. Being by the sea means the views are superb alhough wind can sometimes distort the sound. Toilets can be a problem as there are none in the bandstand itself.

If you're a Friend of the Bandstand tickets are cheaper.

The bandstand is unique in style and has recently been restored although there is still more to do.

Some seating is undercover. Get there early and you can be guaranteed a seat in these areas, otherwise be prepared to brave the elements.

Concerts there are varied, for children and adults alike. Some end with fireworks on the adjacent beach. Its well worth booking to see a concert there.

Magnificent concert at the bandstand given by the Surrey Yeomanry band. Good selection of music. Comfortable outdoor chairs. Easy access, good prices. A great evening

This bandstand is quite unique and it holds some fantastic tribute band nights. I have seen Queen and the 80's tribute bands.
Firstly the queen night we could only get seats on the second level. We were positioned three rows behind the boundary. At times it was hard to actually see the band. Although you can definitely hear them. The seats are not that comfy.
For the 80's band we managed to get seats in the main area to the left of the stage. These seats were definitely more comfortable. Also the atmosphere appeared to be better with everyone dancing.

For £7.50 early bird ticket it offers excellent value.

The bar prices are not too bad either. They do check your bags for alcohol. Although they must have missed the girls behind me with their litre of vodka!!! Even when she kept falling no one noticed!!!

One point which I feel is a negative is there are no toilets inside the bandstand which means paying 20p to use the public toilets near by.

The bands can be heard very clearly from the roadside! Looking forward to going next year. A good evenings entertainment but we will always try and get tickets in the main area.

we heard the concert on Wednesday 17th September and thoroughly enjoyed the wide range of music played. The fireworks at the end were a ' grand finale '

On our visit there last week we went to three concerts at the bandstand. On the Wednesday we saw the 1812 concert which finished with a firework display, Thursday we saw a local band and on Friday we saw a tribute to the Beatles. All the concerts were really good value for money. As a tip wrap up well in the evenings as it does tend to get chilly.

We went to see The Swing Shift Band play one evening at the bandstand. Lovely and clean and seat were surprisingly comfy for deckchairs. Band was fantastic and basic refreshments were offered.
Toilets nearby but you need a 20p. Wheelchair accessible.
Great value for money £5.00 for an evenings entertainment!!
Tip: It is by the sea so although we were lucky and the weather stayed fine, most seats are open so remember to take a jumper or jacket. Some people even had blankets.

The band stand is a great place to watch a show. The location on the beach front is great, the tickets very reasonably priced. My only criticism would be that the drinks are expensive and the wine horrible.

Some excellent productions. Thoroughly enjoyed the British Legion Bands rendition of the 1812 overture complete with firework display. Well done to all concerned.

Every Wednesday throughout the summer season, the Bandstand features the 1812 Overture. Such a lovely place to listen to music, right there on the seafront....though take a blanket to tuck around your legs later in the season ! A wonderful firework display takes place at the end of the evening, just to add to the magic. Great value for money too.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening along the seafront listening to the Downton music - but the highlight are the fireworks at the end of the evening. These happen every Wednesday evening during the summer. Don't miss it....

We stumbled across the live Jazz by chance. It was a wonderful experience and the acoustics were fabulous. How lovely to have this regularly on a Thursday night! We wish we lived here!

Fabulous show and location. Each week there is a different musical theme and is always well attended. It has an on site bar serving drinks, coffee and teas.

Fab night, danced and sang along the whole show.
Queue was long and slow for the bar, but it didn't spoil our night.

Great outdoor venue for seeing a live act, with a reasonably priced bar. The only down points were the lack of cover when the rain hit (but that's a chance you take), and the fact that every time someone in your group needs the toilet you have to hunt around for twenty pence and then leave the bandstand to get to them. When you pay for entry you feel facilities should be free.

Brilliant and very reasonably priced. Never have we seen so many people up dancing at just the second song! A really enjoyable evening despite the cold weather for August. A good time seemed to be had by all and unusual to attend an outside concert.

Came here for 'The Supremes' tribute night. Very impressed with the bandstand as an intimate concert venue, although our pre-booked seats were unreserved we were able to sit in the front row. Parking along the sea front is free in the evening and our tickets were very reasonably priced. It was a breezy evening so a bit cold sitting outside but not a problem for those who wrapped up warmly! Some of the seating area is under cover, there is also a bar within the bandstand. Many people got up to dance in front of the stage, the entertainment was excellent, we had a great evening and will certainly be back.

It has been decades since I have been here to see a band but it is worth coming along the promonade just to see the architecture and it is a great spot to take shelter if it is raining and you can enjoy the sea air and view whilst watching the world go by or perhaps reading a book / paper.

It poured down half way through the concert (brass band 1812 night) there are canvas chairs available but with heavy rain they were very wet. The staff supplied plastic sacks to sit on but it seemed to us that if the venue had a way of covering some of the chairs it would be helpful. The band were great even in poor conditions (weather) nice venue on a nice night - fireworks good but not spectacular but for £7.50 pretty good value. Venue management please do something about the wine from the bar in plastic bottles - not very good quality and pricey - will smuggle my own in next time!!!
