We went for a drive and ended up in Eastbourne, we fell across this lovely little pub just off the sea front, We were warmly greeted by lovely helpful staff, we asked about Sunday Lunch and they were only too happy to fill us in on everything, including special offers etc.,

Went for lunch with some friends. The beer on offer is good and the wine isn't overpriced. The food however could be better.
My friend and I opted for the lamb burger special and the ordinary burger. What can you say about a burger, you get what you pay for but they could have been cooked a little less. Our wives opted for the crispy roast belly pork. Wow, the portion size would have made me struggle. It wax fairly well cooked but lacked a bit of refinement. I'm not sure whether the kitchen is trying to place itself between traditional pub or gastropub; whichever way it wants to go it needs to make sure it knows.

Went for dinner with my girlfriend in December, had a lovely chili con carne and a nice evening, told everyone how good it was. Went about 2 months later for lunch on a Monday and had the cottage pie and the mince was so fatty, full of gristle, tasted cheap and nasty and was one of the worst meals I've had out. Was a shame because how good the first visit was there and surprising as I had had mince both times! Do want to give it another go as it is nice inside and good service, just that bad of a meal can put you off somewhere but I will go again due to how good the first meal was.

The Crown & Anchor is quickly becoming my favourite eatery of its type in Eastbourne. The new decor looks fresh and modern and they now have more table area for customers to enjoy the varied menu. The Lamb Shank is highly recommended especially if your feeling very hungry!! I have also enjoyed the Ribs & Lamb Burger which comes with a generous portion of fries and a varied fresh salad. My wife struggles to decide between the pan fried Chicken or Boston Burger which are both delicious. If you just fancy a quick snack give the sweet potatoes fries served with tatziki dip a try or one of the various sharing platters. We have been on a weekend and also early weekday evenings The service has always been efficient and friendly & the atmosphere welcoming.... A perfect place to stop after a stroll along the prom. Can't recommend it enough.

I visited this place because it has a great reputation on TripAdvisor..
Well now I can confirm that it's absolutely great!!Food is amazing! I had deep fried camembert, then lamb Sunday roast..they both were superb!! All food is home made in house with fresh ingredients and the athmosfere is great. On Sunday night they do karaoke.
Just the wine list in my personal opinion needs to be upgraded. If I come back to Eastbourne I will definitely call again here

The pub has really good food and drinks. There are many vegetable and meat dishes. With both they have a wide variety.
Every dish is pricy and very good.

Whilst staying at a nearby hotel over Easter weekend, we went here on the friday and saturday evening, they had bands playing both nights and there was a very good atmosphere in there, and we had a really good night both nights although saturday was the best.
However on the saturday evening we also had a meal there and although the food was allright(apart from the very overdone chips) the service was soo very very slow, everyone was complaining the whole time we were in there about the service and how long they had been waiting,it took us 2 and a half hours and unfortunately then missed the first half of the bands playtime.
But apart from that,i would recommend for a good night out.

Found this pub whilst walking along the seafront, seemed to be the only one, was jam packed on a sunday but we managed to get a table and dog friendly, plenty of barmaids about, quick service for both food and drink , food very good, even managed a return visit

The Crown and Anchor pub is just of the main sea front.
The crowds of people must show how popular this place is.Drinks were expensive , but as you are enjoying good live music al;ong with your tipple its worth it.
A good selection of meals are on hand , and the staff serve you fairly quickly.A great pub for a night out.

Came across this pub somewhere between our hotel and restaurant, its a lovely pub with a good mixture of age groups drinking in there. There was live music on later in the evening.
The food looked good although we didn't eat in there, although having said that I could not see a vegetarian choice on the specials board, there was several options on the menu which to be honest looked like they could have been bought in frozen and not cooked fresh - hopefully I am wrong about that. There was plenty of bar mailds on duty which was nice as they were attentive and aware of who was waiting to be served. Prices were perhaps a little higher than some pubs but worth that little extra.
Great little pub.

We were invited to an opening night at the The Crown and Anchor and were treated to superb seafood and wine. Very comfortable atmosphere and we will be returning. Cannot speak to highly of the staff who were articulate, friendly and efficient. Food was wonderful and so fresh, seafood heaven.

Really popular place offering good live music and surprisingly good and reasonably priced food. Staff were very friendly and the pub seems to be looked after really well.

Me and my boyfriend visited here on our first night in Eastbourne for a drink before heading off for curry. We liked the atmosphere, although the drinks were not cheap! We then decided to try it for dinner the next night. We ordered at the bar, a platter for starter and two mains. We had a problem in that a main came first with a young waiter who appeared fairly new. Another waitress came over and sorted our meals out, and they were very pleasant about it. The food was delicious, overall the staff were pleasant, and the atmosphere was great with live music on both nights.

We went here because it was dog friendly and they were very accommodating to us. The service was great and the food was good also. They have a pool table, darts board and Sky Sports.
They also had a band on in the evening. Overall has a great time here, would recommend.

I was in Eastbourne Wedenesday and Thursday on a min-break! I found this excellent pub not far from my Hotel. Would - be visitors: imagine you are facing the pier ,walk a few hundred metres to you left and there it is !! I had lamb shank as my main meal and it was delicious! The preceding comments are all so accurate that I cannot add on to them! Will now choose hotels in this part of the resort on the grounds that I will have an excellent ale-house within walking distance.

Excellent food, but be warned, the portions are large. We had a selection of starters and main courses and every one of them was superb. Very reasonable price for the quality and quantity.
The staff are even more tasty than the food ;-)

Visited last evening prior to theatre. Welcoming feel and staff. Food very good and a fair price. Only downside one of the party had liver and while the flavour was good the portion of liver was small. Will not put us off going back. Overall good experience.

Called in for an afternoon drink whilst on an overnight stay yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Ended up going back in there in the evening after a poor hotel dinner and ended up having pudding/cheese at the bar followed by a few drinks whilst listening to a great young band. Most of the bar staff very good and attentive and a lovely environment and atmosphere. There were also lots of people eating and the food looked pretty good .

Popped in to have a pint after a long week and a one night stay in town. Saw the ribs plate float past and my partner was sold.
Food was good price and big portions. Only complaint was there wasn't much option for a veggie and the options they did have were all very heavy and big plates.Hopefully there are some lighter options in the works??
Service staff was fantastic and nice atmosphere all around.

We have enjoyed the food and great atmosphere at the Crown & Anchor for some time now. The new refurbishment looks amazing and gives a more upmarket feel to this warm & friendly establishment. We booked the restaurant upstairs for a special Valentines evening and were very impressed with the redesign of this function area. The restaurant was extremely busy but the table layout was considerate and not at all cramped. There was a decent amount of options on the new menu & plenty of specials on the board as is usual. I can highly recommend the starter sharing platter and we both enjoyed the delicious ribeye steaks. The wait for food was a little longer than the usual wait time but the very friendly & attentive staff kept us informed and kept our wine glasses topped up. All in all another wonderful night. I think this new look Crown & Anchor will appeal to an even wider clientele. Thankyou for a delightful evening..... Will be back soon
