We ate here following a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The tastiest pub food I have had in a long time. I had the smoked haddock florintine and is was amazing. Piping hot, great portion size and seven different vegetables. My partner had the belly pork and again just amazing. Friendly service and a good selection of ales. Well worth a visit.

Sample their tasty menu and enjoy a drink in the real pub atmosphere on offer from their lovely staff. Four of us recently sampled their lamb shanks, always a hit, steak cooked to perfection and the tastiest red pepper quiche. All generous portions that meant even our biggest eater couldn’t quite finish his pudding! If you’re looking for a function venue, small or large parties, or Christmas parties, most successful for our work colleagues the last couple of years, check out their newly decorated room.

Found this establishment by accident, just minutes from the Pier - first went there just for a drink, plenty of staff so no long wait to be served. Saw some of the food brought out to other customers so thought I'd visit on another day to eat. Excellent food, even on a Monday night the pub was busy. At weekends there is also entertainment. There's no secret to running a good public house, where some pubs struggle, this one thrives.

We always visit the Crown and Anchor when on holiday in Eastbourne. The staff are friendly, the food is consistently good quality and excellent value. The interior of the pub is lovely and the general atmosphere is pleasant. Our dog is welcome too! We will return and recommend.

Pricey but reasonably good.
Atmosphere is good. Ales are good. Food is OK. Location is ideal! Opposite the sea and in town so very close to numerous decent resteraunts and bars! Not a bad pit stop to.meet before the night begins.

Eating on your own can be quite a challenging event but in this pub (recently under new management) it was a very good experience; the young staff were very attentive, giving me my meal before other tables, kept asking if I was ok; the food was really good and very good value.
The new manageress was very on the ball, checking all the time that her staff were keeping focused.I went back the following evening, just the same, but with a great live music duo, to entertain.
I would definitely go back next time I'm in Eastbourne!

Ten of us, six adults and four very young children descended on this pub on the Saturday lunch time of the Bank Holiday week-end. The staff could not have been more accommodating or friendly. The food was good value for money and the beers were superb. Highly recommended!

Booked here pre a show at the hippodrome busy Saturday night but still the staff were efficient and friendly.
Meals really good we all enjoyed our choices, freshly cooked and nicely presented didn't wait ages but long enough to know it's done well. Good value will enjoy going back again word to the wise portions large. Although we didn't take our dog on this occasion it's great to see that if walking and wanting a drink or meal we can come here and enjoy good food and nice surroundings also loved the TV screens for the footie.

This is a lovely, well run pub/restaurant, just off the Eastbourne seafront. Has a lovely black lab that welcomes you! We popped in for a late morning coffee/drink and were made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts looked lovely -and I would imagine it gets quite busy at night.

Went for lunch with some friends. The beer on offer is good and the wine isn't overpriced. The food however could be better.
My friend and I opted for the lamb burger special and the ordinary burger. What can you say about a burger, you get what you pay for but they could have been cooked a little less. Our wives opted for the crispy roast belly pork. Wow, the portion size would have made me struggle. It wax fairly well cooked but lacked a bit of refinement. I'm not sure whether the kitchen is trying to place itself between traditional pub or gastropub; whichever way it wants to go it needs to make sure it knows.

Went for dinner with my girlfriend in December, had a lovely chili con carne and a nice evening, told everyone how good it was. Went about 2 months later for lunch on a Monday and had the cottage pie and the mince was so fatty, full of gristle, tasted cheap and nasty and was one of the worst meals I've had out. Was a shame because how good the first visit was there and surprising as I had had mince both times! Do want to give it another go as it is nice inside and good service, just that bad of a meal can put you off somewhere but I will go again due to how good the first meal was.

The Crown & Anchor is quickly becoming my favourite eatery of its type in Eastbourne. The new decor looks fresh and modern and they now have more table area for customers to enjoy the varied menu. The Lamb Shank is highly recommended especially if your feeling very hungry!! I have also enjoyed the Ribs & Lamb Burger which comes with a generous portion of fries and a varied fresh salad. My wife struggles to decide between the pan fried Chicken or Boston Burger which are both delicious. If you just fancy a quick snack give the sweet potatoes fries served with tatziki dip a try or one of the various sharing platters. We have been on a weekend and also early weekday evenings The service has always been efficient and friendly & the atmosphere welcoming.... A perfect place to stop after a stroll along the prom. Can't recommend it enough.

I visited this place because it has a great reputation on TripAdvisor..
Well now I can confirm that it's absolutely great!!Food is amazing! I had deep fried camembert, then lamb Sunday roast..they both were superb!! All food is home made in house with fresh ingredients and the athmosfere is great. On Sunday night they do karaoke.
Just the wine list in my personal opinion needs to be upgraded. If I come back to Eastbourne I will definitely call again here

The pub has really good food and drinks. There are many vegetable and meat dishes. With both they have a wide variety.
Every dish is pricy and very good.

Whilst staying at a nearby hotel over Easter weekend, we went here on the friday and saturday evening, they had bands playing both nights and there was a very good atmosphere in there, and we had a really good night both nights although saturday was the best.
However on the saturday evening we also had a meal there and although the food was allright(apart from the very overdone chips) the service was soo very very slow, everyone was complaining the whole time we were in there about the service and how long they had been waiting,it took us 2 and a half hours and unfortunately then missed the first half of the bands playtime.
But apart from that,i would recommend for a good night out.
