Went here in February after hearing good reviews about it for a while. Glad we did, food was lovely and plentiful, service was perfect and the pub has a really nice feel to it. Highly recommend! We're going back this week!!

We were staying in Eastbourne for a night and wanted to go somewhere for a beer or two prior to eating. We choose the Crown as it received good reviews and was close by.
It was a nice pub with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly. The food looked good and there seemed to be a number of music events on at other times

Only in Eastbourne for 2 nights, popped into the Crown and Anchor for a burger and pint, food was excellent!
We made the Crown our base for 2 nights, the staff were friendly, helpful and chatty and when it came to closing hey never just kicked you out like a lot of pubs do, you could finish your last order at a leisurely pace, thanks for putting up with us ;)

We went in for a quick drink and was delighted with the hospitality and friendliness of people as we were not regulars here. The food looked delicious and was reasonably priced too! There were a few choices of Ales that pleased my husband too

A small but varied menu, the food was fabulous, be warned though, the portions are more than enough to fill even the biggest appetites.

A lovely, well positioned pub for the seafront with good food, entertainment and service. What was very impressive was the service, a large team of easily identifiable staff (dressed the same) who made sure you were served promptly at the bar or at the table and were comfortable.
Thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips and the 'Howlin Blues' band, who entertained us and others who had gathered on this Friday evening.Only one downside (in our opinion), allowing smokers of 'vapes' to puff away inside the premises. Dreadful, smelly, horrible things................and the vapes were not that much better either! A cloud of 'whatever it is?' being blown all around you is not exactly what you need when tucking in to your dinner or slurping a pint!
Seriously, this is really a form of smoking and should be carried out in designated 'smoking' areas, not where others, who do not partake, are eating and drinking, however we would visit again. Thank you for a nice evening.

Went on a busy night, got a table early. 80s band due to come on so ate early. Food was nice, service was good, portions ok. Once the group came on got very busy , standing room only, bit to much noise to chat but a really good atmosphere with some people having a dance,,all in all a nice lively pub with decent food.

My wife and I along with several friends visited this venue in the evening to attend a live music evening. My Best Man was performing, having travelled down from Mull in The Hebrides. Good size venue, plenty of seating. Well served beers and welcoming atmosphere.

I felt the place didn't look much from the outside, but being hungry I gave it a go. So glad I did! I was served a massive plate of really tasty food and am sad to say I was unable to finish it. The Malbec was also if excellent quality. Well worth a visit.

Second visit in two weeks for a meal. Our first visit two weeks there were six of us and we all enjoyed a very good meal. Lamb shanks, steak and pan fried pork. Four of us went back last night and again we had lamb shank, sirloin steak and two pan fried porks and once again all the meals were excellent with a good selection of veg etc. Their crispy onion pieces are lovely. The pub was busy and there was a good buz to the place. Plenty of staff working behind the bar all very helpful and friendly. A very good evening which included a live group playing in the side bar. Well done all of you at the Crown and Anchor from six local residents who have all lived in Eastbourne for over 60 years and we are sorry it has taken us so long to find this excellent pub. We'll be back!

So far the best pub I have visited in Eastbourne, the staff are very friendly and efficient, the food is good and the pub has a very welcoming atmosphere. It is lovely they allow dogs and light the fires, it feels very homely. Great for warming up after a chilly stroll along the beachfront.

Lovely pub serving great traditional British food. I ate here several times whilst visiting the UK and still remember the memorable dish of slow cooked lamb shanks. Truly wonderful pub food.

Changed into a first class pub and restaurant. Hamburgers are memorable and not expensive. Beers are well kept and the place has been nicely refurbished. Clean with excellent service.

We called in last night with our two dogs. They sat under that table while we had a very lovely dinner - form the specials board. The menu is very good. The quality is high and potions are generous. We will certainly be returning. The pub is independent , very well presented, right on the prom...and it welcomes dogs - which is useful as it is just around the corner form the Shore View Hotel which allow allows dogs to stay. So this is a great weekend solution for dog owners visiting Eastbourne.

Six of the eight of us had never been in this pub before, but we were greeted like old friends, and the evening just took off from there. Our first introduction was to a lady of a certain age, distributing fliers for a Chubby Checker show. The more she tried to encourage us to remember him, the more our memories failed. Defeated, we thought, she left the pub, but was back half an hour later, still trying to ignite interest. If only she had known that a REALLY famous pop star was sitting at the back of the pub, quietly having a couple of drinks with his mates......For us the beer and wine were good, the food was excellent pub grub, and the staff were just what you want in a pub - anticipated what you were drinking, interested in what you were saying, funny to to talk to, but all the while running a great establishment. If ever you're in Eastbourne, visit the Crown and Anchor.

My wife and I braved the elements last Sunday and fell into The Crown & Anchor having remembered it being recommended. Suddenly it felt like the sun was shining and the wind had subsided, as great food was served with a smile and washed down with great beer. The best pub meal in Eastbourne in my humble opinion and we'll certainly be back…come rain or shine!

Escaped the elements into this pub which we loved last time we visited. Found a table. Was instantly greeted and drink order taken at the table. Drinks arrived and food ordered. Not one note pad in sight. Food was delicious and massive portions. This is a all round good pub and just wish we lived closer to visit more often
