Dropped in for a drink as this pub is very handy being really close to the pier.
Drinks not too badly priced ( dearer than north of Watford Gap).Lots of customers were ordering food which looked reasonable.
-no one seemed to leave anything.- looked at the menu which has a wide variety of meals on offer.
- prices generally @ 10 pounds a meal. Pub has a small outside seating area at the front looking across the road to the beach.Nice when the weather is warm, despite the noisy road traffic.
Service was quick and pleasant.Worth a visit when passing.

We had a lovely meal here this week my husband choose the Pork belly he was expecting pork belly strips what he got was a huge slice of Pork served with roast potatoes & veg meal so big he couldn't eat it all, pork just fell apart was so big thumps up to whoever cooked it . I had a great steak cooked exactly how I asked for it. Only slight down side was we'd sat near a door as it was very windy asked to move when another table became available Alice our waitress couldn't have been more helpful & moved us as soon as she could , came back couple of times to check we were okay she's a credit to this place . High key recommend - it does get busy as right on seafront

My daughter and I spent one week in Eastbourne last July. We often went to this great
pub in order to have supper. Most of the times ,the tables had already been taken and we had to go to some other places. The lady at the bar was very nice and suggested us going back some other day when there was not the football World Cup on tv.and not that busy. So we went another day, earlier this time and were lucky. The lady at the bar was very nice to us and suggested a place to sit .The food we had was very good quality and tasty. My quiche and vegetables were homemade cooked and fresh. The atmosphere at the pub was warm and not ear splitting. The pub is divided into two large areas, which are not very lit or dim and the seats are very comfortable too. The staff were very kind and efficient.
I really recommmend The Crown and Anchor to everyone who would like either to taste good food or have a drink at this unique pub

We called in here for a couple of drinks before going for a meal elsewhere. The pub is pleasant with a largish bar area with table seating. Service and beer were good but we were disappointed to see so many empty tables reserved for meals which restricted the space to sit to just have a drink. We chose a table but were then asked to move and the only table available was small and in front of the door. We were there for at least 30 minutes during which time the diners at our original table had still not turned up.
Undaunted, we decided to return for another drink after our meal only to be greeted by an extremely noisy DJ session of some sort. We gave up and went to our hotel and had a drink in much more pleasant surroundings.
The pub is fine for a drink but beware of Sunday evenings!

We live in the area and pop into this pub at least once a week and find it a great place to just sit and relax in and just chill! We have never eaten in here ( yet!) but the food always looks good and people seem to really enjoy what they've ordered. The staff are on the ball, you get served a decent pint and it's clean.
Plus, well behaved dogs are welcome !

We were advised that this was a great place to eat, but not to our taste The place is great if you want a small pub type place surrounded by many TV screens all showing sport, we don't A big plus is the home-made burgers we had were some of the best we have ever eaten. However we were not offered a sweet menu just asked if we wanted the bill. We paid and left, having sweets elswhere.

This has got to be one of the better pubs in Eastbourne. The staff are all so nice and the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. I had the lamb burger which was very tasty. Good range of beers and regular live music. Have visited most years in my annual trip to Eastbourne for Airbourne.

Just returned from a weekend in Eastbourne and visited this pub for the three nights we were there. Long time since I have been in a pub as good as this one. Great atmosphere and really friendly and welcoming staff, treated everyone young and old equally. Entertainment was really good and overall the pub had a good feel about it. Well done to the manager and they should be real proud of the good job the staff are doing.
Will certainly return to Eastbourne and this great pub.

Ate here during Airbourne and despite being very busy, the staff were brilliant. The chef should be congratulated for his meals and presentation. So happy, i returned 2 nights later and again a very pleasant meal. All staff seemed to be working very well together.
