We had a very nice dinner at the Crown & Anchor: tasty food, cider and ale. Very friendly personnel. Even karaoke was nice (considering that we are not karaoke fans, really))! We never tried it, but other participants were great, and the kid singing some rock hits was absolutely stunning!)

Whilst on holiday visited after reading trip advisor reviews , I would not have given it more than three stars . We ordered a half a roast chicken £12.95 ( wow ) and a quiche £10.95 , the meals are not cheap . Both arrived quite quickly nothing to write home about , lots of small chips with the chicken . My wife then ordered a chocolate torte £ 4.50 , when it arrived it was very small , no ice cream or cream . I did mention it to the girl at the till when paying, saying the sweet was small but she just laughed it off as I told her older people do complain if it is not up to standard, no refund .

We ate here last night, it was rammed downstairs but as soon as we entered the bar a guy asked us if we were eating & was shown to a table upstairs.
I had cheeseburger bacon & chips and salad & I had the most unusual (but tasty) 😋 little red peppers. The girl behind the bar was a real asset to the pub as she was attentive but not intrusive. She was also rushed off her feet but was unflappable.

food nice enough if rather expensive for average pub grub. Atmosphere OK, but nothing to write home about. Drinks expensive.

Good traditional pub grub that was well served and the service was friendly and polite. A plethora of menus to choose from including a useful gluten free one. We only had mains but the pudding menu looked tempting.

The welcome was warm and we luckily got a table. It was a very busy evening especially as the rain had been hewing it down all day.
The was a slight mix up with our food order but the manageress was quick to sort it out for us and the food arrived as promised. Thank you for lovely meal.

We were are large mixed age group of twelve who had lunch. The staff were extremely helpful in arranging seating for us despite being busy.
The food was excellent both in taste and presentation plus we didn't wait too long for it to arrive. The staff serving us were friendly and competent. We would most definitely recommend The Crown & Anchor.

Had a fabulous wedding party in the function room last Friday. Everything was perfect. Staff very efficient, food great and our DJ and function organiser, Sarah Baker, was amazing. Would highly recommend this venue for party's.

My wife and I were visiting Eastbourne for a few days of seaside escape and came across this pub when walking. I must say it was a great find it was just unfortunate we found it on our last day! I was very happy with the extensive menu which includes vegetarian options which my son would have loved. The food did not disappoint I had the best lamb shank I've had in a while. The staff were outstanding, especially the girl with pink hair and a trendy-looking boy with glasses who really looked after us, both of them a cheery breathe of fresh air. I've seen lots of reviews about the prices and yes it's not cheap but pubs aren't cheap any more so I think it's worth it.
Well done to the crown and anchor pub, highly recommendable.

We have eaten and drunk in this pub on many occasions. The staff are helpful and very friendly. The pub is clean and is decorated really well. The food is amazing. We have never had a bad dinner here. Would particularly recommend the Sunday roast!!! It is the best roast dinner I have ever had and it never disappoints me!!!!

Found this pub when the tour bus had to turn around. Located just across the road from the pier and on the corner. Great service and a good choice of beers from the Greene King brewery. The food looked good although we didn’t eat there at our time of visiting.

A large pun restaurant, good for a quiet lunch but potentially noisier at night with live music. Good choice of sandwiches and meals. Separate sports bar with pool table and darts. Very friendly staff and very nicely presented food. We went back again.

Great pub with great food and entertainment in the evenings.... we tried this pub on the Friday night and enjoyed ourselves so much that we went back the following night too. We were a party of 10 and we were made to feel welcome by the helpful and friendly staff. We booked to eat there on the Saturday night and the food was really good with lots of choice for vegetarians or people with gluten intolerance. We would definitely go back there when in Eastbourne again. Just another note: - I personally would like to thank the honest lovely female member of Staff who pointed out that we had overpaid our bill and refunded our overpayment.......how honest and lovely was she? What a great person.

Have a friend who struggles to find something other than a salad for a vegetarian when we meet for lunch. First time we have been here following a recommendation by a work colleague that a full Vegetarian Menu had been set up. She had the Nut Roast and I had the Feta and Beetroot Burger. Food excellent and we shall certainly be going again as first time in years she has thoroughly enjoyed her meal as did I and we want to try some of the items on the menu. Staff very friendly, lovely location and nice to go somewhere that does not have loud music blaring out that you cannot hear one another talk.

Nice pub right on the seafront. There are some tables and chairs outside if you want sit out there on a nice day. We spent a few good pleasent hours here. We didn't order the food so can't comment on that. It's a dog friendly pub and one of the staff (all of which were very nice) brought our doggy some water.

Despite being very busy, service was quick and friendly and I didn't feel awkward being a woman on my own. Food excellent and service quick.

We called here for an evening. It looked nice enough from the outside. Menu fairly standard, but there is a specials board inside. The customer service standard was high. The interior itself was a little tired. It had a good sized bar with tables for eating at in the bar area, several sports screens, papers to read, a local information screen. The food was decent enough - we had pork belly and lamb burger from the specials board. With one drink each the bill was £32. The beer was very nice (choice of cask ales), but not used to paying over £4 a pint. The floor in the gents was very wet and I'm not totally sure what I was paddling in. Without the quality customer service levels this would have been average.
