The lunch/dinner food here is just amazing, then bbq ribs are probably the best I've had, the bbq chicken wings they do for a starter are delicious.
The only thing negative for me is the banoffee pie, it was awful, I had hoped it would be on par with the actual meals but unfortunately not.
I've put 3* for atmosphere as I really didn't feel much of an atmosphere, it was quiet and peaceful but that's what I wanted. I've never been when they've had music playing.

Just took my mum here for Sunday Roast and wasn't disappointed. One of the best home cooked style roasts I've had in a long time, nice venue and friendly staff too will definitely be back next time I'm in town

This is my go to pub in Eastbourne. There are many in the area that I enjoy, but you can't beat the Crown and Anchor for quick service, friendly staff, great food and plenty of live music at the weekends. Never been disappointed, always left merry.

We had visited here a couple of years ago and I’m pleased to say it’s as good as ever. I had the lamb shank and it just fell off the bone. My friend had the pie which was first rate. The veg with the meals is imaginative and well cooked. We had a side order of cauliflower cheese which I can recommend. This is not just a restaurant that serves beer but a proper pub where drinkers are equally welcome. In my opinion, this is a traditional English pub at its best.

My daughter and I went to this pub last night as we were staying nearby. This is definitely one of the friendliest pubs we have been to! Every member of staff was welcoming, chatty, helpful and smiley. The food was fabulous and plentiful! I wish we lived nearer as it would definitely be our go to place. Fabulous!

Went to the Thursday night pub quiz. All 6 of us all had great food. Service was spot on. Great atmosphere. Could hear the questions clearly (some pub quizzes are terrible). We've also been for live music previously, which is also always great.
Only downside is that the gents toilets desperately need a refurb and a good clean a lot of black mould higher up and there's only an old fashioned trough urinal and 1 cubical, so it gets a bit busy when the pub is full - I try to avoid using it while we're there if I can - still not a good enough reason to go somewhere else, so everything else must be good!

No sooner we entered with our family dog, staff offered help and showed us to nice table. We were waited on for drinks and food, with helpful tips and advice, which were all good. Excellent food, worth the little extra over some other local pubs.Highly Recommended.

A lovely pub near the pier.
Even though it is a Greene King and you expect the chains to be very generic, this was made special by the tall guy who serve behind the bar and the meals. Lovely guy who really looked after us.
Plus, they have regular live entertainment.
Worth a visit if you are walking past.

Had an early dinner as we had booked the Royal Hippodrome, an ideal spot as very close. The pub is pleasant and the server we had was attentive, however the food was rather disappointing. We both had steak and ale pie - the beef was plentiful but the crust was soggy. I wonder whether it was heated in a microwave rather than a conventional oven. The vegetables were a bit greyish and washed out too. We then ordered the American baked cheese cake and no way was this baked but rather a strange texture. All in all rather underwhelmed!

Great pub with really great staff. Lunch was VERY tasty and didn’t disappoint. So many eateries in Eastbourne where their staff let them down but not here. You really feel they all want you to have a great time and go out of their way to ensure you get the food exactly as you want it. Excellent value for money. I’ll be back!
