Remarkably friendly and quick service. Very wide range of vegan and gluten-free dishes, which is really great as this is not yet offered in Germany. Unfortunately we were only there on the last day of our holiday, otherwise we would definitely have come back.

We had a lovely lunch here - the staff were very pleasant and helpful and brought us a high chair - as we were outside, it was order at the bar - perfectly standard.
The food arrived in good time and the nachos, Camembert, chips and chicken wings were all very good and large in size. All in all a very nice lunch and a huge menu so we will have to return to try more! All great for vegans and veggies.

I used to love coming to the Crown and Anchor when visiting Eastbourne but had a horrible experience this time. The bar staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful, but I ordered some chicken wings for £7.50 and when they arrived we received 5 of the tiniest chicken wings you can imagine. I mentioned this to the manager as I was quite disappointed and he was very despondent saying that’s just how it is, and how he thought it was really good value, not showing any sympathy at all. Shocking customer service. I don’t think I’ll be coming back and will certainly not recommend any more.

I had food here two days, one after another, I had bacon cheese burger first day that was very good, the next day I had steak and ale pie, you won’t get a better pie as the steak was great and plentiful, fully recommend the food and the selection of beers.

We sheltered from the rain in this lovely pub and stayed for food.
They were so welcoming, accommodating 8 of us and 2 dogs. The food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended

Not bad, the starter of pate was good, but I wasn't keen on the homemade Stilton burger. It wasn't as good as I would have hoped. I'm always shocked when I return to the UK how expensive things are.

Called in for Sunday lunch while on holiday with daughter and grandchildren aged 3-11 years. The Bar staff was very welcoming. Children had food on the children's menu. Large portions for children but they have great appetites. My daughter and I had roast beef. The veg could have been cooked a bit more as a bit on the raw side. (I am a chef myself for the last 30 years).

Came in on a Thursday evening on off chance. A quiz going to be held and nearly all tablets reserved for the evening. Made to feel very welcome. Had high table to sit at but staff all made us feel not inconvenient. Thank you.

The staff work their socks off here.Such a well run establishment. This is how pubs should be run. Lovely food I had the roast and my daughter had the burger. One of the nicest pub roasts I have ever eaten if I was being picky the broccoli could have done with 3 more minutes cooking but that can be forgiven. This is an exceptional pub with wonderful staff and good quality food. Well done to everyone who works here.

Only have the pie if you're a fan of food swimming in masses of strange oily gravy. The cabbage (we think) had a congealed mass of it on I'm not sure how long it had been plated up before it was served.
