Very convenient location for a reasonable price. My friend and I booked two single rooms. We had finished walking the South Downs Way. Very convenient location, perfectly reasonable size room and bathroom for a single room, sea view too. We ate our evening meal at the hotel as we had walked a long way... enough choice on the limited menu for us both to enjoy. We had an excellent breakfast too - obviously very popular with the guests. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. For the price, convenience and location it was a good choice. I think the hotel was in a transition phase of ownership. There was an odd system of having to pay for your dinner at reception beforehand but it was easily managed.

Beautiful view, super friendly staff, clean and spacious The staff were fantastic. Nothing was a problem. Everyone was keen to help and make our stay pleasant. Abbie was one of the receptionists. She changed our check out time free of charge from 10am to 11am and extended our parking till late in the afternoon. We were so delighted. This may have not have cost the hotel much to give us but these "little extras" have turned us into loyal customers we will definitely be back. My husband slipped over in the shower room. The floor seemed a bit slippery but again the staff were kind and caring. They reported it to management and are going to look at what cleaning products they used and make sure they have an ice pack ready in their freezer in case anyone else ever has a little accident.

A pleasant stay in a Victorian town. Well painted, spacious feeling ground floor. Sense of Victorian times. Bedrooms comfortable, tea and coffee machine in the room. Staff were simply the best which made our stay enjoyable. Rooms were hot despite the fan. Windows couldn’t be opened more than six inches.

Surprised and impressed From the moment we walked into this hotel we loved it.  Both receptionists on Friday afternoon were cheerful and helpful.  Luggage storage and abit earlier check in. Our superior room, 111, had a lovely sea and pier view. Windows clean.  It was a very large room, high ceiling, good shower/bath, bed comfy, white sheets. Lifts worked. Nice seating lounge.  Beach and pier across the road and cafes, tree lined street, around the corner. First time to this hotel and we will go back. Highly recommend. Bathroom needed a good clean.
Smokers and their cig tabs at the main entrance.

A good base for spending time with elderly relative and having some time to relax. The view of the sea, pier and garden (I liked the new style of garden where the carpet garden used to be, more eco-friendly I imagine) was lovely. Nice to be able to cross the road and be on the beach. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. The car park needs to be bigger, but I guess there's nowhere to extend it. It was stressful having to move the car early the first morning and have a long walk from and to where I parked the second night. I was grateful to get a space in the car park for the last night.

A Relaxing Place to Stay Great location along the sea front, near the pier and bandstand. Perfect for a short walk to Devonshire Park for the tennis. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good. It was nice to have entertainment on some nights. The room was too hot due to the exceptionally hot weather. The shower wasn't easy to manage.

Nice stay in Eastbourne Friendly staff. Receptionist found us a fan for our room, essential in the extreme heat. The bar was cool and breakfast was fine. Very handy to be able to park there and then get a cab to the tennis. Even with a fan, the room was extremely hot but otherwise ok.

Good location. Useful to have a carpark, but cost £6 per day. Friendly staff.
Reasonable breakfast. Didn’t stay for evening meal. Good size room but we did book a superior.
We were staying during the very hot weather and there was a fan in the room which we were very grateful for.
Needs a lick of paint outside.
Room not serviced. When I asked reception they said that we had to request a room service, really????
So I requested a room service. Still not done next day.
A couple of small maintenance issues, blind and door sticking. Also reported.

We enjoyed a lovely sea view room that was clean, with tea making facilities and a lovely shower. Although on 2 evenings there was entertainment we didn’t hear it upstairs. The bed was comfortable and despite being at the front of the hotel on a busy road we had good nights sleep every night.

Burlington could do better The position & we could park. The lift was an advantage. Didn't like shower over bath. Very dangerous. Food not good from bar. Fish & chips had been sitting somewhere. Was not fresh.

Great value for money Location perfect. Big spacious room. Great value for money. Will stay again next year for the tennis The decor on the outside of the hotel needs painting. The fan was really weak. The window didn’t stay open we had to wedge something there. The toilet was down a very long narrow space

Stayed for 2 nights while watching the Eastbourne tennis.Yes we'd do it all again! Great sea front and central location and staff go out of thier way to help you Parts of the building are a bit dated and needs modernising but the bits we saw weren't as bad as some of the reviews I've read! We didn't use the lift but it does look like a collectors item!

Lovely place in a lovely location. It is a grand old hotel which retains lots of charm and character. The dining room and bar have wonderful sea views. One of the lifts was not working but there was an alternative lift and the stairs!
