my only negative was that the hairdryer was filthy. it was sticky and covered in other people's hair! Otherwise everything was lovely.

Comfortable but basic. Clean, basic hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Central location within town. Dated, worn in places. No air con in room. Small double bed.

This hotel is a good for a budget place, little dated in places, especially the old lifts. I used it to stay close to a sporting event and it is in a great location by the pier (though roadworks right outside currently)

The staff were all very friendly, check in was easy and chatty which was great and the people hanging breakfast where full of energy and just the right cheeky banter.

The room was small, even for a single but served its purpose - the bed was on wheels and did move which felt odd the first time of getting on it making me think it was wobbly - the sleep on it was fine. There was a small fan in the room, and sash windows to the side. The shower and both looked fine, but no real water pressure so the shower wasn't great.

I would stay here again if I needed a budget hotel on the seafront.

The room Wass clean enough,

It is fine The location is just brilliant, close to the beach and some of the rooms have a good view of the coast line. The rooms and hotel are a bit old and lack of renovation.

Value for money Basic room but good value for money. I was only there for one night. I looked out onto a brick wall

Not good never had these problems before. Good position Have stayed many times at this hotel,I booked a sea view room as usual and the room they gave us was small and very stuffy with one small window. The shower wasn’t good and the plug in the sink was broken.also had to ask for clean towels and milk etc

Very pleasant staff but lifts were very old fashioned and could only just fit me and my wheelchair in then room was " cozy" and had a bit of difficulty getting in with wheelchair and the access to hotel is through dining area you have to ring bell every time to enter and leave hotel which is a bit of a pain

I got a glimpse of a wonderful past world. Good location. Lovely old historic hotel. It was a lovely property, with lots of history but sadly quite shabby and dirty.

Very nice, traditional, seaside hotel in a great location. Ideal for a short stay. Great location & view from bedroom, comfortable bed & bedroom, good shower, good breakfast, handy bar & bar food in the evening, reasonable parking. I think the dining room has had a partial make-over (new paint, curtains, etc.) and looks much better than last year. Shame the dining room isn't open later in the evening (just during the tennis tournament in June), but understand the staff need to get home. Also, the paintwork on the sash windows is peeling off and could do with a make-over.

We had a good holiday! The hotel needs more refurbishment as it is looking rather run down! Good selection of breakfast items!

Comfortable and pleasant for a short stay. The room was spacious and had a good view. The bar could have been open a bit longer for a Saturday night.

A great location right on the front opposite the pier, the staff are very helpful, the food was nice, help yourself breakfast and a set dinner menu or a different menu for a extra price, the hotel is very dated and could do with a lot of work around the place but if you want to stay for a couple of days it's perfect...

Great position but hotel needs work Position is perfect and staff were fantastic It is very tired & needs a lot of work. There was so much mould around the shower cubicle - it was horrible. The blind in the bathroom was broken and the window behind would not stay open. Generally, we felt as though there was just not enough cleaning being done or maintenance being done carried out.

Very pleasant experience we stay here a few times in a year The location is ideal for the pier and town centre staff are very friendly and accommodating The lifts are a bit small

Enjoyable, with pleasant helpful staff, not wildly expensive, and yes, I would stay there again. It was as I would expect from a well-established building; nothing 'trendy', with room functional and bed comfortable. Also there was a bath as well as a shower, which I had requested.
The breakfast was most enjoyable, with an infinitely-variable selection of food, so one's preference and order of consumption could be obtained without lengthy explanation.
One of the lifts was very small, and the rear access door to the car park couldn't be kept open without someone physically holding it; exceedingly annoying. Also the finishing time for serving dinner was too early.

Sea front Eastbourne Staff were exceptional. Couldn't do enough. A lot of elderly people staying and the staff took great care of them.
The view from the room to the sea was beautiful.
The room was a very good size.
The hotel needs money spending generally but being such an old iconic building it must be a constant struggle to keep it maintained. This didn't detract from our enjoyment. More a point of concern for the future.
