Clean and central location Nothing all good

Great location with excellent sea views. Nice to stay in a historic hotel. But deep cleaning needed. Staff, especially Abby on reception were great. The sea view, the location. Cleanliness in the bedrooms especially bathrooms. Skirting boards covered in tea stains. Windows hard to open, unless you stood on a chair. Ants crawling on window ledge and entering bedroom. Shower base filling up and draining water away. Key stuck in lock and hard to get out. Toilet moved off the floor from side to side. Door lock bracket so loose nearly coming off. No entertainment apart from one night, a singer. No tv on in the bar or lounge all day and night. As staff couldn’t find the remotes. Most hotels, I have been to, have the news on continuously as a background to look at. Couldn’t get any water for my daughter as bar not open until 12. Ridiculous. Hotel lifts very small. Restaurant staff on evening meal, didn’t appear to know what they were doing. One waitress tried to sit us at a table for two and there was three of us. A family behind us got given their deserts after their starter instead of their main course. Seemed a bit Fawlty towers in places.

Our stay was comfortable had a nice sea view room . Would stay again .. It was nice and spacious . Lovely shower . Bed was comfy . Breakfast was value for money . Toilet was badly stained . Nothing that a bottle of bleach wouldn’t sort out . Place needed a good dust over . But overall good .

Location, bar. Breakfast. Our room wasn't cleaned, at all during our stay.
We went out for the day on our 2nd day and got back at 10 at night
The cleaner had not been in , no toilet rolls, no clean towels.
Had to ring down to reception.
Don't expect this in a hotel that costs over £100 a night .

Though the room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in. The front outside of the hotel and the inside of the hotel did not look the same as the pictures. Which I've also noticed someone said the same below. We had a double or superior sea view room. The decor and furniture look so outdated, even by the reception area. The walls and its paint look old and dry. The lift is so scary and old. Even the use of fans and plug heaters is so outdated although not the worst. The bathroom floor looks like council flat floors. The whole hotel looks in need need of TLC. Its just not what I was expecting from what I saw in the pics. I can tell many of the area hotels have an outdated look. However, You can have still have a hotel with a traditional look with updates hotel facilities and better condition walls. On the other hand staff were friendly. And the location was great, close to everything, which made up for where the hotel was lacking.

The property is so run down which is a shame as it’s a lovely building.
The carpets are stained and dirty and the place just looks dirty.
Maybe the cleaners don’t have enough time to do each room.
The staff where friendly

We really enjoyed our stay, would definitely stay here again. Such good value. Perfect location on sea front opposite the pier. We had a superior sea view room which was wonderful.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly, always chatty and social able.
We did half board. The evening meal was nice, catered for the masses I guess. But just not very adventurous.

Very friendly and comfortable hotel. The staff work very hard. The hotel was situated on the front which was a good location. The staff are all very friendly, always very helpful. The food was very good,a lot of choices. The room was just a standard,so could do with abit of refurbishment. The room could have done with abit of a thorough clean.Dust on skirting boards, and a good hoover.Bathroom needs an upgrade.

Good budget break. Staff helpful. Good car park available. Breakfast. We paid for a sea view, but room was very noisy (heavy metal band playing in the basement of the cafe below us). Moved to a room at the back. No sea view, but quiet.

The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. I only went B&B, but the breakfast had a reasonable selection, and was regularly refreshed.
The building is in desperate need of some tlc, but having stayed in many Eastbourne hotels, this is normal, and THe Burlington is a little bit above average on this score.

A perfect location to watch the air show and the hotel is big enough to not feel over crowded We have stayed at the Burlington before and our experience was very good. All the staff were kind and friendly and went all out to please. The breakfast was lovely with something for all tastes. The location is just right for watching the air show and I would recommend the hotel to anyone. The air con wasn't working in the bar area which was not good and the windows were a little grubby.

Disappointed Ideal spot right near the pier.
Stayed for the weekend for the airshow.
Very dirty behind the scenes, had to go down the stairs as lift was very slow, went past where the clean laundry is stored and the floor on every level was filthy, pavement outside was cleaner.
Rooms could be a lot cleaner as well.
