lovely victorian hotel, the cleanliness and maintenance is letting it down.

lovely victorian building with lots of original features. The room 333 we stayed in was very cold, there was an extra plug in heater provided which you would have to use depending on the time of year. The walls were very mucky with a lot of hands prints on them. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly it was very small and narrow. Carpets were really heavily stained.

No heating available in room until I contact reception and they wanted me change rooms and that room had no heating as well. Eventually the heating was switched on in room and it was resolved.

Unfortunately tainted as the room we stayed in smelt of cigarettes and don’t blame the smoker for opening up the window and having a cheeky smoke as we we were soooo far away from reception we had to take Kendal mint cake for the hike and phone had no signal or idea called an uber lol
This was valentines night and a treat for my partner which turned out to be the beginning of the end of 4 year relationship ! March now and single ! My own fault but partly blame the lazy smoker ( don’t really )
Other than the points I’ve mentioned HANDS DOWN best hotel in Eastbourne ! I just won’t be needing. It again :(

Our stay was very good, our room was big and the beach view perfect. The inclusive evening meals were good, but, can always be hotter.
My only shortcoming, to mention, is that the booking web sight makes no mention of a 40+ hotel car park at the rear of the premises, available at just £6.00 per day. That is cheaper than the on street parking available and far less hassle than having to either move or update a meter at 8.00 o’clock in the morning.

The price was good for the location of the hotel.
Car park not free as requested in my search, this was a unexpected outlay. Unfortunately the hotel had a number of drunk people and the town was very undesirable.
