We booked the deal of overnight stay with dinner and breakfast £205.
We arrived at 4pm and was a little shocked to be told that dinner was only served between 6-7pm which was a bit of a rush as our friends hadn't arrived at the hotel yet.
Our room was clean with a comfortable bed although the bathroom was on the snug side with the toilet quite close to the shower.
Dinner was nothing fancy, the food wasn't pipping hot but edible.
The breakfast was plentiful, with lots of selection to choose from such as toast, cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt with also a cooked full English, again the cooked breakfast not hot but edible.
Unfortunately the hotel has seen much better days, it is in desperate need of repair or a whole new refurbishment, as on our floor we had a leak resulting in the ceiling falling down with water still leaking on the floor and the same in the dining room.
To be honest I will say the staff made this hotel. They were extremely polite, friendly and accommodating.
Unfortunately due to the hotel's need of repair and overall looking extremely tired we wouldn't be retuning.

Late booking & had a slight issue upon arrival. The manager was very apologetic & the issue was resolved very quickly. We ended up staying another night. The weather wasn’t kind but the sea view was lovely. Breakfast was much calmer and nicer on the Monday morning. Bar staff were very friendly & helpful. Reception staff polite and friendly too. Ended up being a very pleasant stay. Very dog friendly. Would return again. But would always go for a sea view if possible. The hotel is very old but there is something about it that makes it worth a visit.

Stayed 3 nights on a coach trip from Hull so I wasn't expecting luxury (you get what you pay for). Yes, the hotel is dated and looking tired, but our room was clean and tidied up daily. The staff were all great, so not sure about some of the recent reviews. Meals were good for a coach holiday. Breakfast was a bit of a let down as the buffet area was tiny for such a lot of guests, so the food kept running out. I've scored it down for the lift being out of order. 2 lifts for a place this size is crazy especially with one down. It must have been out of service for a while looking at reviews. I kept letting the older people go before me as I felt I had to being younger. (Even though I had a stroke so my legs aren't very strong.) I would book again though and hopefully the lift would be fixed

We stayed here as a group and bought our dogs which they charge £10 each for. £10 to upgrade to a superior sea view room. Nice big room with everything you need inside. Tea and coffee station. Sea view is stunning. Great view of the pier, which is a few steps away outside the hotel.

The hotel is dated and faded but that was part of its charm. It has a lot of character. Nice big dining room for breakfast which has a good buffet style fry up.

Nice bar area with a live entertainer and pub quiz on.

A couple negatives. The loo was so close to the wall you can barely fit on it. The loo seat was broken. The soap dispenser didn’t work. And the lifts were extremely slow and one was out of order so easier to take the stairs.

We had a nice stay at the Burlington hotel Eastbourne. It was our first time there with really friendly staff in every quarter. The rooms we had were nice and spacious albeit a tad dated. The bed for a double was quite small after our king-size. The evening meal was served really quickly and although quite small in portions, but very nice. The breakfast is buffet style which was again nice. The bar during the day was nice to sit in especially the area overlooking the prom with views of the gardens, pier and sea. The bar side of things is very limited for ales on draught but have lager on draught. The other bar with more choice, is only open when they have entertainment on. We did actually have entertainment on the Saturday night which was really good.
There are some negatives at the hotel which need to be addressed. The hotel do get a lot of disabled guests but, they have great difficulty in actually getting into the hotel, as there isn't a ramp for wheelchair users or for those with walking difficulties. That is both front and back where the main car park is situated. There is only one lift to serve guests access to their rooms. The lift itself is very hit and miss when it wants to work or not. They do have another lift but for some reason, isn't operating. This doesn't help when lady and disabled guest's have to go downstairs to use the toilets. Because there are no lady and disabled toilets avaliable in the hotel upstairs. I've always thought that these facilities were things that HAVE to be provided nowadays.
I also think that the reception desk, is situated in the wrong place. It should be near the main door so they can see who is actually coming into the hotel. It is also a more friendly way of greeting guests.
Out and about Eastbourne. The town itself is a 5 minute walk from the hotel with an abundance of shops, cafes/restaraunts and bars to visit. They even closed off the road for music and entertainment to be played and watch. Good idea actually. The pier is just across the road and have shows on at the end (see notice boards) at the entrance to the pier. There is a great bandstand which has tribute acts throughout the summer. We saw Elvis who was really really good. You can jump on and off the sightseeing buses in a 24hr period as much as you like too. These can be boarded also by the pier. A bus ride to Hastings takes around 45minutes and is worth a visit. All in all, we did enjoy our visit to Eastbourne and the Burlington it just needs updating and the disabled issues addressed.

Went on shearings coach holiday with freinds coach and driver was better than expected driver went above and beyond .the hotel staff were also very obligingly freindly couldn't fault ,the negatives hotel very run down leaks every where buckets catching rain even in dining room food breakfast poor choice watery scrambled egg evening meal just OK room clean if not again tierd drafty windows dirty carpets no soap toilet rolls had to ask ,huge hotel only one lift works and alot of walking to rooms and facilities if not that able bodied as we're many on our coach wouldn't return but definitely use shearings again x

The room 421, had a lovely sea view. The bed was very small as was the toilet but my main complaint was that the room smelt very strongly of urine. I complained the next day as the smell disturbed my sleep but nothing was done about it. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights I would have insisted to be moved. We have stayed at the Burlington on many occasions and never had cause to complain before but the smell was so strong I felt the need to complain.

Location first class, large, comfortable room, with good catering facilities.
In general the paintwork all over the hotel is very tired, chipped, discoloured and in places dirty.
In our room 404, a large flake of paint is coming away on the coving above the wardrobe and the veneer on the desk has bits missing. The door to the room was ill fitting and rattled in the wind. The bathroom curtain was dirty and had holes in it, and the lampshade on the desk lamp was dirty. The carpet was stained, and the door handle to the bathroom was ill fitting, as was the toilet seat, being a square seat on an oval pan. The toilet paper was awful, very thin, and there were no tissues or sanitary bags. The hotel is very tired looking, and only one small lift was in operation. The whole building seemed generally run down, for a prestige hotel on the sea front. There was a frayed carpet in the dining room, and some staff need training in customer relations. The breakfast menu was not flexible in that only scrambled eggs from liquid eggs were available, no alternatives. Very good car parking facilities at the rear of the hotel.

Unfortunately my 91 year old mum has tripped over a step up into the bathroom in room 211. To be fair the hotel responded quickly as I needed help to get her up. We think she may have broken a finger. Her face and arm bleeding but superficial cuts.

This has obviously spoilt what was a great overnight stay.

The room was an upgrade to a superior one and has a great sea view. Until the fall we had no complaints. Just the step into the bathroom is actually dangerous. I do not see what could be done apart from some strip lighting?

A coffee making machine, water, tea, coffee etc all fine.

Not sure I like dispensers on walls instead of little bottles of stuff but a lot less wasteful.

NO mattress protectors and they should put these on the beds.

Clean, comfortable. Dinner was good and service very prompt.

Our lunch in the bar was enjoyable but the soup was very salty. Otherwise fine. The service there was slow but we were happy watching the sea so not that bothered.

The hotel is huge and yes, dated but it is an old hotel. Yes a few places need a lick of paint but nothing major and there is a car park.

Being near the beach, pier and shops was helpful.

The Burlington Hotel is lovely. Yes it may need a lick of paint here and there but the room had a double aspect window over looking the sea, the room was very comfortable, a lovely size, bath and shower. The bed too was very comfortable and had lovely linen, the towels are a great size.
All staff exceptional and very friendly.
The breakfast was very tasty, no fried eggs but scrambled.

Lovely room, brilliant views staff very helpful. Only one lift was working, no wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor had to return to the bedroom to go the loo.

We checked into this beautiful hotel after visiting the Seven Sisters hillocks late afternoon. We were family of 2 couples and were allotted two double rooms. The rooms are spacious with attached toilets. The toilets were very clean. The tea tray was sufficient. The room had an iron table and an iron press. After a tiring trail on windy day at Seven sisters the room was so cozy and comfortable. The hotel has a large but paid parking.
The location of this hotel is just opposite the Parade and the view of the gardens and sea is fantastic. The Shaikhs Pier is few paces away.
A lovely female singer entertained us with songs from the 1960-90's. She is really good. The audience loved.
The lounge of the hotel is very spacious and comfortable with view of the Parade and Sea.
We recommend this hotel to our friends and relations.

Stayed for three days as part of coach trip with Caledonian. Lovely old hotel which deserves an update which i know they are working on. Room clean, excellent sea view, shower a bit small but manageable, comfortable bed - slept really well! Breakfast superb had every choice you could want and the dining room was beautiful. Staff friendly. Need to get second lift working for those of us on 4th floor. Outlook really nice flowered gardens, sea view and delightful lights plus the pier lit up during the night. There are remnants of its former glory visible but overall its clearly suffered a lack of maintenance and upgrades over the years. The tired appearance is not mirrored in the staff, however, who were uniformly helpful and professional, and the location can't be beat. But the fact is that returning to the room was just about the last thing we wanted to do.

I was looking for a reasonable room ( only ) for the night, so can’t comment on the food as ate elsewhere.
This hotel once upon a rime would have been magnificent, however with so many of these Victorian hotels, time and cost of running a large hotel have taken their toll.
Therefore, the grandeur of the building is still there, but its all a bit dated and rough around the edges. However, the location is great, staff very friendly, and rooms clean. There was also some good entertainment on when I was there. For a cheap no thrills stay, I would return, but for anything a bit more special of an occasion, probably not.

just came back from weekend here and stayed in a superior double room sea view and found it ok it was clean and large i asked for a room with the big windows and thats what i got so was very pleased .the bathroom was very tiny if you were over weight you would of had to back in but it was very clean and soap /showerjel provided the only down side is the floor boards they creak a lot and we had someone above us that walked around most of the night it went quite about 5.30 to 8 oclock then started again so no sleep all weekend although i would say thats not really the hotels fault just are bad luck we had a insomniac above us !!! the hotel is well worth a visit all staff are very helpfull and polite never ate there so can not comment about the food had entertainment on saturday night which was not to bad

I mean...I paid only 200£ for 2 nights. Anyway, when I booked the ,,superior room " I was promised that I will get a room with sea view, of course I didn't. 3 stars for location and for the room being tided once. Invest some money and the hotel have the potential to be the best in the area. I recommend if you want something on budget and close to the beach and town center.
