I was looking forward to staying at this iconic hotel which is very centrally located, opposite the pier.
Positive points:
- Friendly staff.
- Room was clean and housekeeping efficient.
- Modernised bathroom.
- Reasonably good value for the price.
- Good amount of seating in the lobby area.
Issues for improvement:
- Decor of the room a little dated and poor soundproofing between floors.
- Noisy guests in corridors causing a disturbance after 11pm.
- Perhaps it would be helpful to have some information in the room about the hotel's services and local attractions.
- There are only two rather ancient looking lifts, only one of which seemed to have been working and even this looked rather cramped and dicey. I ended up having to use the stairs (three flights).
- The entrance to this historic building ought to be grander than it is at present.
Overall, the Burlington is really a budget hotel, of a slightly lower standard than Premier Inn.

We had a seaview room, it was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The staffs were polite and friendly. We would recommend this hotel and would definely go back .

Easy check-in and parking, room had everything needed, hotel was clean and well presented, good value and breakfast was good. Floors were creaky and could hear the people moving above. The bed wasn't level and leaned to one side slightly, old style rooms.

Noises off Staff friendly .room was ok Entertainment was good on the Tuesday. Breakfast choice was scaled down .no fried eggs .no porridge.
Wednesday evening entertainment was far too loud .many of the elderly guests didn't like it .

Lovely building in need of refurbishment. Great location. Beautiful old Victorian building. The man on Reception was friendly and helpful. A great location opposite the pier. The bar was very reasonably priced and a singer on the Saturday night was very good although we missed the first half as we had no idea there was entertainment. Good point of breakfast was Oat and Almond milk supplied on a separate table with Gluten free bread and a separate toaster.  Nice view of the sea and pier from the dining room. Although the hotel is a beautiful Victorian building it was in need of refurbishment. The bedroom was quite spavious however, the bed was very small and uncomfortable. The room was mainly clean and warm apart from limescale on the rim of the tap, mould on the net curtains and some sort of stain on the bathroom wall. Breakfast was basic buffet style with cereals, yogurt, frozen mixed fruit, cooked breakfast, juices, white or brown toast and croissants. Tea and coffee were available out of large flasks. Sunday morning before advertised time of breakfast finishing, the brown bread ran out and when asked it was replenished by a lady who had been checking guests into the dining room. She brought out the bread in it's packet and proceeded to put the bread in the basket with her bare hands. Needless to say we skipped toast! A man asked for sausages (about 9.40am) to be told they had run out.

The accommodation is located in a beautiful place, just opposite the pier. Check-in was easily done, as I arrived late in the night the staff member handed over the key and agreed that I can make the payment in cash next morning. The room including private bathroom was equipped with everything I needed for a couple of days (towels, kettle, tea and coffee).

The hotel was conveniently situated with brilliant views of the sea. The hotel is very dated, cracks in the ceiling, creaky floorboards, wooden window frames in very bad condition, it was really too hot in the hotel, the breakfast was the same everyday,

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff they were polite and courteous ,the position of the hotel, and the cleanliness It’s a very old and established building with lots of character lots of. Creaky floor boards .that added to our stay.and with the staff so helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble for them.the breakfast was plenty with a good selection and amount .with the room clean and tidy.we had a standard room but supplied with tea and coffee and kettle ,it own bathroom with all the soap and shower dispensers. All at a very reasonable cost very pleased and pleasant long weekend The wife and myself didn’t find anything displeasing about our stay it was very enjoyable

We were really happy with our stay and would definitely stay again. We like the hotel because when we walked in the lobby was massive and grand. Our room was a bit on the small side.

Amazing seafront view View from.our room was amazing. The room was spacious, bathroom a little cramped and very little shelving for toiletries. Toilet seat was loose, but put right very quickly after reporting to reception.
The bed was comfy, second night much better with additional requested pillows.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.
The breakfast had a good selection of cereals, fruit, seeds, pastries and hot food.
I am not gluten intolerant, but they cater for people who are with their own selection of cereal, bread and milk alterntives.
The communal areas were too hot. We opted to have the evening meals which were not good. It is rather regimental having to stick to the same table for meals and having to pre order at breakfast.I understand this to a degree when at full capacity, but numbers were very low. The dinners are obviously pre cooked due to this as we had barely sat down before our food arrived and this adds to the food not being very appetising.
The whole building is shabby, and tired in parts, but it is a huge building to maintain.
Having said that there is no excuse foor grubby paintwork on doors and rails.
Despite this, due to its location and comfy bed and nice staff we would stay again, but make sure we eat out in the evening.

Good value characterful hotel in great location. Character of property, locaction, size of room, and breakfast. If you leave the car park you've paid separately for, for 24hrs, there is no guarantee of having a space when you return.
