Location was superb.
No power in the shower, it was more of a drip. The breakfast cutlery ie the bottles of milk and small glasses for juices were stained, all of them, they didn’t look clean .

What a fabulous stay right on the seafront secure parking around the back costs £6 for 24hrs which is well worth it its a massive old victoriana building on front across from the pier reception staff friendly and do what they can to make your stay bar with sea views and restaurant with views lounge area and stage lifts are old fashionable but perfectly fine our room was on 2nd floor with twin beds desk coffee facilities and chairs plus wardrobe clean white bedding and towels big shower in bathroom and clean toilet all u need while your there

A wonderful setting for a short stay in Eastbourne.
The location and grandeur of the building was perfect. The bed was really comfortable and the sea views lovely.
The layout of the bathroom was a little awkward and might be hard for people with limited mobility to get in and out of the bath/shower. The breakfast arrangement wasn’t great. We were moved from the table we wanted near the windows to a pokier table towards the rear.

The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly.
The view out of the front of the hotel towards the sea was beautiful in the morning. The room was comfortable and clean and there was a separate room for my daughter to sleep in so we all had privacy, but she was still with us and felt secure.
The walls were thin so we could hear other residents coming and going through the halls. There weren't enough spaces in the car park so we had to park down the road and pay to park.

Room without a view
The location was perfect. We enjoyed our visit, it was good value for money. The hotel desperately needs modernising, it's stuck in a timewarp, clearly popular with the coach operators but needs bringing into the 21st century. As its one of the biggest hotels on the esplanade it holds a fine position. The restaurant, which we only used for breakfast was fine though the young man charged with organising your table was confusing and moved people rather like pawns rather than customers. He needs a little refining in his manner. All in all, not a bad experience.

Excellent stay
Wow room with a view didn't disappoint, sea view able to watch the sunrise was just stunning, words can't describe how beautiful this really was.
Breakfast room had sea view as well adding to the experience. Lift, we only used to take cases up and down, all other times used the stairs. The lift was very old and slow and the other one was out of use, had the fear of getting stuck in this lift.
Bar also closed at 11pm and there was no where to get water after this which wasn't great.

All Staff who we contact with was polite and very helpful. Well Done staff.. Hotel tired and needs a lot of renovation upstairs and refreshing down stairs. Our bedroom needs new floorboards, front windows and bathroom needs gutting.. bedrooms could do with information file with Hotel facilities and timings.. local visiting suggestions and emergency details, etc
Bedroom was clean but needs facelift and new flooring. Bath plug had hair. 6/10 Spoke to reception who apologized and sent a person to clean.. but not much better. Breakfast 4/10. Very basic.. not much choice if vegetarian if don't eat tomato base products... chef not interested in making fried eggs instead of liquid egg scammbled egg.. disappointed but staff was so lovely.. thank god for good staff..
