Excellent stay
Very nice location & staff were very kind & had time for a chat especially the young lad at breakfast who took the time to pass the time of day with us

The location was ideal for our stay.
The hotel is looking very tired and needs a coat of paint everywhere. The rooms could do with refurbishment and introducing some colour.

Lovely but a little noisy
Room was lovely, big, clean and we were on the side so also had a sea view. Staff really friendly.
Toilet was in a really small gap, noisy floorboards , noisy outside, breakfast was not good

The staff were very helpful and polite. Parking on site was an added bonus. The room needs a make over, rip in carpet by ensuite, window frames on inside /outside are a bit rotten. But bed was extremely comfortable.

No fuss upgrade
That we were upgraded to a large sea view room without a fuss, after discovering a problem with the room we originally had.
That you were expected to book for dinner before 4pm, and that you couldn't just get a table if you felt like eating later. And only a small window of time for dinner seatings.

A fine place for a night or two
Amazing location!
Depends on which member of staff you find as to whether they’re friendly. One lady was a darling and the other was very rude.

We were perfectly happy with the staff, location, accommodation, and entertainment.
The bed / mattress was really uncomfortable and given both of us a bad back ache. But apart from that, everything was perfect.

It was on sea front . Close to the pier. Staff were friendly . We were able to check in early which was a bonus . Had a problem with electric which was sorted immediately which was amazing.
The walls and floors are quiet thin . But this is due to building being older. But overall no complaints

Has so many great qualities of an old british seaside hotel. The upkeep is not is not perfect but functional- givenbthe history this is to be expected. Large room, very nice bathroom. Staff very helpful. Great value . A little wonky in places . Gutters are damaged. But its great

A very enjoyable stay. There was a real buzz around the reception area and the breakfast area.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with plenty of everything. The hotel, being close to the pier, was ideally positioned. The room was serviced each day of our three day stay. The shower water was nice and not. We made good use of the kettle and the hot chocolate provided was welcome.
The room had poor ventilation with just one window opening about 8 cm. When we did open it we were invaded by pigeons. The door to the room was tricky to close and made a terrible bang each time we closed it.

Parking fee as the scratch cards for £2 are not available as all other hotels. We have stayed here many times and always able to purchase a scratch card for parking from the reception. The excuse was that they have their own car park at rear which is £6 a day. But the car park has always been there. …

Our friends were staying at the hotel with their dog so we met up with them in the bar. We sat by the window looking out to sea. Choice of ale was very limited so had to settle for Guinness from the other bar which, at the time, was closed but the barman got it and brought it over to me. Our friends were very happy with the hotel and their room, saying that the hotel is very flexible regarding dogs.

I spend my weeks on the road and stay in a huge variety of hotels, many like this one that I would describe as "faded glory". Typically public areas are a little tired and rooms a little tatty BUT in this case the room itself was comfortable and the bathroom newly refurbished - all in all excellent value for money

It’s the second time we visited. This time we had a quiet big room with a bit of a sea view. The beds were very comfy. The breakfast was good. They offer an English breakfast. The beach is just across the street and loads of shops and bars are in reach.We will be coming again.
