Perfect room for the solo traveller, clean and excellent breakfast

Burlington is a Victorian property so we understand that it is difficult to change some things. The outside could do with a bit of TLC, but inside was good. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Had a lovely seaview room but seagulls and pigeons can be a bit noisy in the mornings which is no fault of hotel.

Superb value for money The cooked breakfast buffet was a little disappointing (overcooked) but plenty of it. Nothing, we were pleased with the staff/ facilities and location. We will definitely be returning.

Burlington, Eastbourne The location, parking facilities, and the staff are always very helpful. I have stayed at the Burlington before and I think that the Superior room should include a mini fridge.
In addition, I think that some of the rooms could do with updating.

Walls and carpet were marked, shower gel dispenser was broken. No fresh water for kettle in room, for a short stay was fine but wouldn't want to be there for an extended visit.

Out stay was ok , but the building is very tired with the paint on the window sills on the outside flaking.
The hotel has no air conditioning, some very old lifts.
Breakfast was ok but no fried Eggs just scrambled.
Simple things like a sweep up outside the restaurant would be an easy fix as debris looks like its been there for sometime.

it was a perfect base for me to catch up with an old friend. The staff were incredibly helpful The staff were outstandingly helpful
Perfect location for the beach and the town
As a disabled person the lift was a tight fit - though in fairness this is an old building
Access to the hotel as a wheelchair user is quite a trek, though as pointed out it's an old building

Pleasant stay overall. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Lovely location right on the sea front. The bathroom in the room could have been cleaner and in better condition as this was supposed to be a 'superior ' room. There was also a castor missing from the bed.

Convenient but place looked as though it needed a bit of “refurbishment”! Conveniently placed. Bed was slightly uncomfortable but it fulfilled my needs!

We were well looked after. Staff were exceptionally helpful. They had time to listen to what you needed and responded intelligently and with thought. Could do with an additional lift.

Not as good as my stay lastweek, however the food was excelent, however due to the hot weather they had ran out of fans, to cool the room in the room i was in it was eithe4leave windows open and get alot of friday night noise or close window put up with the heat to lessen the noise outside, the staff were.good amd checkin was done well, however on the floor i aas on people were just letting fhe doors slam rather than close all night, however the food was excelent as ever i did look at getting fiod delivered however the quality and price of the food at the bar was very good so i got that, staff friendly but not over friendly which is great the manager has got the right balance, my mattress in my room was good (i presume must of seen my review and gave me a room with a hard matress (which is what i prefer, I got what i paid for but just a feedback from the room i was in i know staying on own and got a single bed but i do prefer a double my thing is you may want to what i would call a single plus, which would bè midway betwen single and double rate for peoole like me who is only one person but just an idea, as i realise double is two people usually in a double and if you have a look at your records i think you be suprised how much a sinfle person used your bar and food service compared to the guests double just a thought, great wifi and great custome service m, but i think your brouchure and website needs updating one says you have a car psark payable at 6£ the websites say

Pleasant but not wonderful Location, food especially the breakfast and how lovely all the staff were. Bedrooms very tatty and old fashioned. Water pressure on the 4th floor awful so showering wasn’t very good.

We have recently stayed at the Burlington Hotel Eastbourne (12,13,14/07/24). Hotel very very tired and in need of major refurbishment throughout. We reported our shower NOT working on the first evening (Friday). Then again TWICE more only to be told, the shower could not be repaired until the following Monday morning, the day we were leaving. We were not offered to change rooms just told to basically, get on with it.

The rooms are not serviced everyday just the bins are emptied. We weren't told this until we queried it and told it was STILL their policy following covid. Now, if they can replace bin liners and towels. Why can't they fully service the rooms ie make the beds. The basin plug couldn't be removed without having to go behind the pedestal and pulling the level down.

Our room was right behind the TWO lifts (I know it couldn't be helped) but the noise from them went on until early in the morning. Which did impact on us sleeping properly. This means that at least FOUR rooms will be affected.

The restaraunt. To be fair, the food was quite good for what we paid and the staff serving were pleasant. Again the staff in the small bar were again, pleasant and courteous. The only thing about it is. The lack of draft beers (1 lager and 1 cider) compared to the much larger bar next to the entertainment room. This bar is only used when, there is a function on. Which isn't that often tbh. Which to me is just a waste of space. But there you go!!!

I think the reception should be resited to neaer the main entrance and not, stuck away around the corner out of site. At least they could then keep a check on who comes and goes. The hotel does get a lot, of people using walking/mobility aids. The main entrance isn't actually user friendly to these guests as it has steps up to the main door. If, they converted one set of steps to a SLOPE, then they could enter more easily. Also, there is NO disabled or ladies toilets on the ground floor. You have to go down a flight or take a lift to the dark and damp basement. Or go back to your room. The only toilet available for use on the ground floor. Is a gents and NOT the cleanest either. It needs to be monitored.

The only good thing about the hotel is, it's in a great location opposite the pier and a 5 min walk to the town centre with lots of shops, bars restaurants etc.

Will we come back to the Burlington. Then that's a NO. Shame really but there look better hotels close by.

This is a great value for money hotel. We’ve been a few times now. The rooms and bathrooms are slowly being refurbished. The lack of air con in the hot weather is an issue for some. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It’s in a great location with easy access to shops and local bars/restaurants
