Nice location. Clean rooms. Good food. Bar prices weren't overpriced and a good selection of whiskies and other spirits. Also liked the fact they did gluten free bread and cereals.

Ideal hotel for a seaside getaway
Hotel was old but very clean and in the perfect location for sea front and close to the town centre.
Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

It was a good few days housekeeping needs a sort out
Very friendly staff big rooms
Room service was nonexistent found lighter and someone’s deodorant on floor coffee machine was dirty so could not use,it’s a shame because we always stay here we know it’s an old building so obviously hard to maintain .And this first time we have had a gripe with our room

its a value for money hotel very happy staying there again
there was only one thing out of place and that was making tea or coffee in the room which i did not attempt to do as the water was not mains water coming out of the tap in the bathroom breakfast was a 10/10 staff very cheerful and helpful its a shame that the hotel next door was burnt down many years ago but it dose not look good it would be good to find out what is going to happen to that as the boarding blocks the pavement and it's been a mess ever since
i did not like people smoking by the main doors going in and out as i don't smoke and i found that very unpleasant there should be some kind of smoking room put in place

The check with James was great, really professional and welcoming. Jasmine on the bar was excellent, the lady who took over after she had finished was also excellent.

nice view, noisy room as the walls appear to be thin. I could hear the people above me galavanting about. Still, the staff were courteous and efficient. Bed rather short for a 6 foot person.

We are familiar with the hotel, we have stayed three times now. This time we were fortunate enough to have a sea view room which was perfect, watching the sunrise was magical.
We did not like the evening meal, it looked & tasted cheap, we opted not to dine on our second night as once was enough, however breakfast was faultless & exceptional.
We were also disappointed with the bed, for a ‘superior’ room the bed consisted of 2 mattresses on a double bed, our usual sleeping position altered due to the hard middle of the bed!!

Bathroom was narrow and no handles in the bath or on the walls to help steady yourself. Could see the spotlight through the closed curtains most of the night .

It does have parking at the rear of the property that was £6 overnight until 3pm the next day. We went to the Congress Theatre which was a short 13 minute walk.

Great location and wonderful view of the sea and pier. Friendly staff and very helpful.
Breakfast was pretty good for lovers of full english but the sausages, as usual, were the cheapest you can get. View from the dining room was wonderful looking out over the sea and Eastbourne pier. I was given a single room on the first night and it was freezing and pretty cold so i complained and was immediately given a free upgrade to a much larger room with much more comfort.
Creaking floors and slamming doors and a drunk neighbour at 0130 but that soon stopped :) ! lift was broken and the 2nd was tiny but the large lift was repaired after a few days. Nothing to get upset about

A pleasant one night solo stay
Excellent and friendly customer service from all members of staff at reception and at breakfast. Spacious and clean room with good views from the fourth floor. The bed was very comfortable and the extra radiator was very much appreciated.
The peeling paintwork in the room needs some attention. A coffee machine with options such as cappuccino/latte/mocha would have been a nice addition to breakfast.
