Nice stay, because of the location, Victorian seaside interiors and amazing staff members.
Nice location, nice room view - as we requested a sea view from the staff member at the reception and he changed our room, comfortable beds and amazing staff especially those two young gentlemen at the reception upon arrival and check-out. Building and interiors look great. Big plus; I loved hearing the stormy waves at night.
It could have been tidier; dust, dead bugs and dirty carpets unfortunately.

All good I brought my brother and he had a crap room even though we paid for premium room and hotels should be no pets they smell and people have aligges put them in kennels or get them put down

Good value for money, would stay again
Prior to arrival I messaged and asked if we could if possible have a disabled access shower room if they had one, or a shower cubicle ( as opposed to bath) if not. We received a message back promptly saying they would try to provide. When we got there the nice lady on the desk told us that due to their disabled room being already booked they had upgraded us to a seafront room which was a lovely surprise and particularly appreciated . ROOM - the room was big and comfortable save for the points below, there was a small table and comfortable 'bucket' chairs. In addition to tea/coffee there were decaff coffee and hot chocolate sachets and a Tassimo machine (sadly we couldn't work out how to use it!). And good quality biscuits. BREAKFAST good, a lot of variety - cereal, pastries, fruit/yoghurt and a hot buffet of all the usual bacon eggs toast etc. SHOWER - ok, water hot, pressure reasonable, shower gel provided. ALL CLEAN. Good wi-fi. The SEA VIEW in the morning! LIFT - fairly small and another almost the size of a dumb waiter' - but worked fine.
Only a couple of things - it was a cold February night and we arrived quite late and the room was cold. We turned the heating up and it did get warmer but not enough. This is of course an old, gracious building with high ceilings and wooden windows, which can take a battering from the salty wind.
The TV - no signal, and no instructions . Had we told someone maybe they could have sorted it out. The Tassimo instructions, though they are the ones provided by the manufacturer in pictures, it didn't seem to work - again I expect if we had asked it could have been remedied. But it was a nice touch we weren't expecting anyway.

Everything you need is here. The hotel is old and a little rundown, but we love it here. The staff are great and very helpful. Breakfast is a must, and everything you could want is available. In the evening you can choose to eat in the restaurant or the Blue Bar, both offer a delicious variety of dishes.
We've stayed here 4 times now and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Can't think of any negative points.
Just bear in mind that our review is purely personal. It's what we like, but it may not suit others.

Me and my son planned to stay for 2 nights originally but we ended up extending it for 1 more night as we was enjoying our stay so much!! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, breakfast is a nice buffet. The room is clean and fresh and everyone is welcoming and kind and they were also very welcoming to my dog!

Windows old so really draughty on seaview and radiator not working but was sorted had to put towels on the draughty window to warm it up overall was ok

On the whole a fairly enjoyable stay.
View was very good from both rooms after one room was changed. (Asked for rooms to be close together, but when we arrived, one was on first floor and one on third floor). Receptionist gave an upgrade for one room, so that the rooms were close together. Breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold items.
Heated towel rail did not work in one room, which meant that bathroom was very cold in the morning. Was told it would be put right on first day, but still not working when we departed.
Was woken at five in the morning on second day by creaking floor boards from room above. This went on for over two hours. People were either walking about or dancing.
