Basic, needs updating, would stay again but in a larger sea-view room with a wider bed.
Room was comfortable and very clean. Booked room only so cannot comment on food. Staff were very good. Rooms need some updating. Expected and had a room at the back but view was of bird mess and rubbish. Bed was very comfortable but small.
Bath rail insecure. Filth outside the window but inside was very clean.

I was in room 119. there needs to be some sort of net curtain at the windows as you can see clearly into the room from the pedestrian crossing outside Harry Ramsdens, to allow guests some privacy,

Ideal sea front location
The location is perfect, good breakfast selection and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
The bar area was a great place to sit and watch the world go by. The room and parts of the hotel needed a bit of TLC. We stayed in a cosy double which was fine for two of us but the bathroom was very small, the toilet was cramed in between the bath and the wall which made it hard to use.

The best hotel in England
As always this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location can't be compared to any other hotel in Eastbourne. The staff from the reception, night porter, restaurant staff are the friendliest most helpful I've come across and I travel the world and stay in luxurious hotels. The breakfast is amazing.
Most of all I am always blown away by the original features including the plaster cornices and wrought iron bannisters. If you have a room with a seaview there is nothing better. That I was only staying 1 night.

We stayed at the Burlington for three nights in April whilst visiting family and it was fine for us.
The hotel is large and suffers like a lot of these vintage seaside hotels with a historical infrastructure that would need millions of pounds spent on it to modernise it and return it to its former grandeur. That said, the cheerful staff do their best to work with the limitations of the building and its fittings.
Our room on the third floor was clean and had everything we needed, the wifi was fast and reliable. The bed was a bit hard for our liking but we managed to sleep ok, the shower was hot and powerful enough for our needs.
We only ate breakfast in the hotel, there was a decent buffet with plenty of everything, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, juice, toast including gluten free with a separate toaster etc and a full English of course.
Apart from a daily hunt for teaspoons we couldn’t fault it.
The staff were friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay here again when back in Eastbourne.

A very nice stay in a very handy place.
We did not have a room with a view but the hotel was nice enough anyway. A lot of victorian stuff including their lift which was lovely to travel in too. Beds were super comfy and it was nicely heated as we went in February. 10/10 for staff too.

The location is excellent opposite the pier and a short walk to the town. Staff are welcoming and helpful.
The room we stayed in on this occasion had a very hard mattress however we asked for another duvet to lay on which helped make it more comfortable.

Great price & location, nice friendly staff, parking only 6.00 for stay. Reception and bar area are really nice and spacious, and nice bar/ restaurant overlooking seafront. Bed comfy, plenty of tea coffee milk etc in room. Good hairdryer, lovely white towels and bedding.
Got back to Hotel at 11.05, on Friday evening, after coming back from a family party, thought we would have a drink in the bar, but it was closed, which we did not expect, . If it was midweek maybe, but not at 11.00pm on a Friday evening. This was disappointing, we thought it would be open till midnight..stairwells are really shabby. Room was very basic, but adequate for what we paid, windows are really bad and in need of repair. Curtains are shabby, the shower was terrible, hardly any water pressure and it took so long for water to get warm Bath is extremely high to step out of.
Went to breakfast at 9.00am, no bread, eggs, beans or hash browns left and only a couple of rashers of bacon, I had a drink waiting for it to be refilled, but had to actually bring it so someone's attention and ask for this to be replaced.. This ahould really be checked regularly.

Good standard and attentive to detail
The spacious nature of the hotel and the room facing the sea. Great!
The staff were attentive to personal details and handled questions and queries well. The food for breakfast and dinner was good and presented well. The hotel could do with a lick of paint. The lifts were dated even though they worked well.

Excellent hotel and facilities, Well worth the money. All the staff were fantastic and the hotel is well worth a book of your looking to stay in Eastbourne. They also cater for your pets and give them a very warm welcome. Food was amazing and freshly made.

I booked a standard room for me and my husband but when we got there the room was very disappointing with one window quite high up that you cannot look outside and it was right at the back. There was also a big gap between the bed and the headboard as it was where their plugs were! So I asked to be transferred to a room with seaview with an extra £50. The room where we transferred was amazing with seaview, very clean, spacious and comfy. The whole hotel was old and needs renovating but they are doing their best to keep it clean. Breakfast was a standard buffet, on our first morning the staff were lovely but on our second morning there was one female staff who would only choose who to greet, not friendly at all to people like us, coloured people. The young lady at the reception was brilliant though, very friendly and warm(you should employ more people like her). She went the extra mile by letting me choose between 2 rooms where I want to be transferred to. She’s amazing!
