Dirty room. Mould in shower, crumby carpet. Windows and windowsills rotten and dirty. Plug sockets not very accessible. No iron/ironing board. Very dated hotel- breakfast was £12pp extra which was fine but felt stuck in the 70s.

Nice hotel for the price and great location
Great location and only 15 min walk from station right by the pier. Loved the older style of the building with the staircases and telephone booths. Breakfast was the highlight of the stay plus Louis was a great bar tender.
Size of the room, the bathroom especially was so tight had to remove toilet roll from holder to be able to sit on the toilet. Shower was nice but couldnt get dressed in bathroom due to size. Also the smallest lift (as the big one was broken) so not good if claustrophobic at all. Hotel really needs updating but guess this is hard due to listed status

As someone who has worked in the service industry in various roles I appreciate the Burlington for its perceived flaws as much as it's strengths.
The Burlington is arguably as much a part of the seafront as the pier it almost opens out on to. Here's the important thing, it's just as old.
When you stay in the Burlington you're not so much visiting a modern hotel, as staying in a living piece or archaeology.
Something that though it has changed hands to another chain ownership, feels like it is still run as an iconic private establishment by a small and refreshingly affable and friendly close knit team.
This is something I feel other returning guests appreciate, and I'm going to presume that being a listed building, cheap and quick fixes to interiors such as floorboards might not be that simple.
I personally liked the bellboy lift. We've visited twice and each time the view from our room and at breakfast have been phenomenal.
Speaking of breakfast the selection of choices available is equally as refreshing. I myself have at least two or three separate, and different, breakfast dishes from the buffet on offer to satisfy the Hobbit within.
If you want a slick almost lifelessly sterile, perfect hotel experience then sure there are choices out there for you and your VAT ledger that are way better.
If however you're looking to just take a step back from everything, drop a few gears, and feel like you're travelling back through the history of the quintessential British seaside then yes my friend the Burlington is for you.

Lovely and comfortable staff very friendly
The staff were wonderful received a room upgrade. Parking at the rear, breakfast was great heaps of choices hot and cold close for walking along the water front

Exceptional manager and her team
I am a regular visitor at the Burlington me and mum love the location. We also feel so at home the staff are amazing especially Sarah the manager she is brilliant caring compassionate my mum passed out in a local shop and had to be taken away in an ambulance I was so upset abd Sarah looked after me she is a true credit to the Burlington so thank you

Our first time in Eastbourne and we chose this hotel because of its great location. The hotel has a car park at the rear of the hotel and is very reasonable at £6 per day. We had chosen a standard sea view room which was comfortable and clean. We decided to extend our stay and upgrade our room to a superior sea view room which was outstanding. In addition to the extra space, it was enormous, there was additional wardrobe space, a coffee machine and bottled water. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning to the Burlington at the end of this week!! The breakfast was very good, a great selection of hot and cold food. I have to mention that the staff at the hotel are lovely, every member of staff that we met were friendly and professional and Abbie on the Reception desk was amazing. So thanks to everyone at the Burlington, we will see you soon!!!
