Superb Sunday lunch - quality and unusual food - this naturally has a cost - would visit more often if I could afford - this makes any visit a real treat.

It was a Monday so very quiet. Food v good. Nice chilled Pinot grigio. There was 12 of us and all food was good. My only annoyance is service 10% added to bill. It seems to becoming the normal these days.

Chloe and Vicky served us and were great and attentive. We came here to have early dinner with some relatives we were visiting in eastbourne. Good atmosphere but apparently was quieter than usual. Food was good, and had a good vegetarian dishes. Very pleased with our visit overall.

UPDATE -

2nd chance
Went a couple of months ago and had a dreadful experience. We were invited to give it another go. We went with a lot of trepidation.
The difference was like night and day. The food was amazing (beef bourginon, calamari, sea bass, chicken) Louis, our server, was perfect. Attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be going again
Apart from the setting I wouldn't recommend this venue. 3 of us had the calamari entree. Some bits really chewy. Waited ages for mains. All 3 meals were dry. Looked like they has been sat under heat lamps for a while. My steak was overcooked and like rubber. Sea bass was a dry, overcooked single fillet, other steak was dry. When I spoke to the waitress I had to ask for a replacement meal. My friends had finished eating when I got the replacement. The side of mushrooms were now cold and not replaced. It was very nice though. Dreadful creme brulee. Quite sloppy. On to coffee. One of our group got a cold latte. How on earth do you get cold coffee? No apologies. Apart from 1 waitress the service was very lacking. Didn't seem bothered about the customer. Bill came. The cost of the coffee had been taken off. We did get a further discount after asking and a chat with the manager. Still no apology or acknowledgment from anyone.
We never mind paying extra for good food. This was way overpriced for the quality of food and service.

Maitre D was abrut boardering on rude..on his phone as he showed us to our table threw the menus down and walked off, didn't even check that we had reached the table!
Food was OK but some dishes expensive for what you got. The poached egg with fishcake and nicoise salad was cold sitting on top of a beautifully hot fishcake ..when I questioned this the waitress wasn't sure if it should be hot or cold but bought over a hot poached egg, another waitress didn't really have a clue about the drinks menu therefore the staff appear to be lacking in knowledge of the dishes and drinks..the staff however were friendly (unlike the Maitre D).
General food service was slow, which on this occasion was fine as we had time to kill before the theatre. Disappointing and not sure I would go back

The view and the decor is absolutely gorgeous, food and drink is around average, friendly service but not enough staff for it's always so crowded in sunny days so it means you have to wait for quite a while to be served.

Ideal place for a date or gathering, seaview and spacious terrace. Variety of vegetarian options, set menu and desserts. Really liked fishcake and mushroom risotto, good wine and beer selection, friendly service
