The food was very good, the interior was perfect. Service however was really poor, and unsmiling too. Forgot to bring out accompanying veg, wasn't able to provide 2 of the vegan dishes, and was charged for a bottle of wine rather than a glass. Having said that, I will return! Hopefully these problems will be ironed out soon. Mistakes do happen in the early days but really, staff also need to be more courteous, especially as it's far from cheap.

We had breakfast here - softly scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and two very good coffees. Staff were extremely busy on a sunny Sunday morning but in spite of this the lady who looked after us was very attentive and friendly. Wonderful views and the restaurant is spacious. We will certainly return here.

My wife and I went in for breakfast (we had booked) yesterday..after a long and brisk walk down the sea front. We were really looking forward to this our second visit but we were apprehensive due to the mixed reviews to date. This restaurant in my opinion must have one of the best views in the country, if not the world! Fantastic sea views and vistas of Beachy Head and the pier. Surely this is intended to be the flagship of the group? The place is lovely and very welcoming. We were greeted by the lovely Janja (who we learned later is sadly leaving this very day) and shown to our table. After ordering our meal we sat back and did a bit of people watching - my favourite pastime. We soon realised that the table next to us (6 people) had been waiting a long time for their food to arrive. We heard one of the servers explaining that there was a single chef in the kitchen due to another calling in sick. Surely a restaurant of this calibre has a "bank" of staff for emergencies?? We didn't have to wait too long for our food - I did see various staff members arriving at the back. The food - mushrooms on toast for my wife and full English pour moi. Mushrooms were tasty albeit only warm not hot and the overall look was spoiled by a big lump of what seemed to be undispered "roux" - surely the chef must have seen this? My own breakfast was very tasty but once again only warm. Lovely quality ingredients which would have been excellent if properly cooked. Lovely sausages and black pudding. Bacon quite cold and would have been much nicer if fat was rendered and crisped. Fried eggs were cooked as requested - well done..for some reason I also got scrambled eggs too! With a couple of minor tweaks the full English could be superb!!<br>The staff are friendly and lovely but sadly some of the key members are moving on already. I don't want to be too harsh because this is a start up situation and there are going to be teething troubles. So to anybody who reads this review please give BP a chance - or a second chance - if you have been already. There seem to be some staffing issues but when these are resolved this bistro could easily become the best restaurant in town - something for everyone. We will be back and will be reading other reviews with interest. Well done to all of the staff and hang in there - it will really be worth it. Steven

Took my daughter and grand-daughter-we all loved our meals and portions, and service were very good. The Christmas decor created a lovely atmosphere and although we went when it was night could still feel the sea nearby.as well.<br>Recommend it.

This bistrot has only been open a couple of weeks but is buzzing with visitors!<br><br>Clearly, an extremely popular place to meet up with friends.<br><br>It did get a little noisy as the hard surface interior design bounces the sound around.<br><br>Service was slow, I guess due to the due to the numbers present? Orders needing chasing and there were 'mix ups'.<br><br>However, a fabulous location on the beach front with stunning views of the sea and South Downs.<br><br>Torrential rain when I visited so, couldn't sit out on the external balcony or garden areas! However, on a beautiful day, can't think of a better place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner!<br><br>'Scottish' waitress was warm, friendly, hard-working. Other waiting staff members were grumpy. They appeared stressed by the amount of orders to get out and tried to avoid eye contact with waiting, impatient customers! They need to take an attitude lesson from the Edinburgh lass!<br><br>On the whole, a pleasant visit. Think in the summer months this will be the "go to" place for food and drinks in Eastbourne to take in the location.<br><br>Views of 'Airbourne' will be amazing from Bistrot Pierre so maybe book now!!<br><br>A much anticipated great addition to Eastbourne's dining choices.

Very good experience today after an iffy visit to Cafe on Sunday. Christian turned the visit into a pleasurable experience. Excellent haddock wrapped in pancetta with delightful sauce. Chocolate mousse to die for. Beautiful outlook over the sea. Can't wait till the next visit. Very busy so you might need to book

Had read about slow service but - I was here as a walk-in at 11.40, and was seated, served and had eaten everything by 12.15! Lovely posh real French butter, everything piping hot - and that's really not easy with a full English. Lovely loos too.

Today we have decided to explore this new place in eastbourne and went for breakfast. We have booked a table the evening before just in case. We were greeted by the waiting staff and taken to the table with some incredible views overlooking the Beachy Head. We were impressed my the decor as well. This is where our positive impression has stopped. The order was taken straight away. We ordered two eggs Benedict, one with a sausage and the other with bacon plus two lattes. It took exactly 33 minutes for the food to arrive, coffee arrived a couple of minutes later, which is a nonsense as drinks always come first. We were not even offered a glass of water despite having two empty water glasses on the table. People sitting next to us, complete strangers, said that we should complain as we are waiting far too long. Bear in mind the place was only 30-40% full. I have politely asked the staff member called Vic about when we can expect our order. The reply was rather rude. Instead of telling us something like “I will check on your order” he said “everyone are waiting” and another waitress apologetically said “sorry, We were not expecting such a busy morning”. This is a surprise considering the bad weather and that the place has only opened its doors as a business. One of eggs Benedict was overcooked, the sausage was cold and bacon was too dry. The whole presentation was poor. Upon exiting the place we saw people lining up and heard the staff saying they have no places. This was strange as I said earlier the place was only 30-40% full. I recommend going to a similar concept place called Nelson’s, run by a lovely couple Ben and Lucy. Not as massive and views are less appealing, but breakfast and coffee are far more superior for the same price. Keen to give this place another chance and go for dinner one day.

At last, a great restaurant on Eastbourne seafront! Very good food, we had breakfast there today. Very nice decor and stunning views even on a gloomy day. The outside area will be delightful in the summer.

My wife and I had the pleasure to eat here on the preopening night Thursday. We were not disappointed. This reinvention of the old space that was the Wish Tower Café is a total transformation.  Contemporary  furnishings, and decoration, coupled with an amazing expanse of modern glass give diners unparalleled views over the English Channel. It’s alfresco dining without being outside.<br><br>We arrived early so we would have a chance to sample what the bar has to offer. The bar / lounge area itself has ample space inside, and is comfortable with high stool table as well as booth, and normal table space. This is an important addition as this gives a great place to enjoy a pre or post meal drink. The drinks menu itself is ample. All the usual is represented. Good range of wines, Lager and Ale. There is a fairly comprehensive cocktail list with all the current favourites. We tried a Porn Star Martini and an Aperol Spritz. Both were very well made, and presented, There were no shortcuts when they were being mixed. I also tried a glass of the house Chardonnay, this was dry and light and also a good value glass of wine. All the glasses were clean and polished, the straws were paper. That should keep the environmentalists happy. Lots of shiny chrome around the bar offsets the wood very well.<br><br>After enjoying our drinks we were taken to our table. The restaurant was extremely busy so we took the table for two persons we were shown to. In most instances this would be fine. However as we had our pre drinks, ordered wine, and water. With the other bits on the table it made for a bit crowded even before the meal  started. I’m sure on another occasion we will be able to request a larger table. That said, the table was clean, and the cutlery was spotless, the salt and pepper were full, chairs comfortable, the table was steady.<br><br>Krys was or waiter, he was very attentive. He kept us appraised of what was going to happen, and when. The dinner menu was clear, easy to read, has a suitable number of choices without being overbearing. No reason that anyone can’t find something they would like, if true French style cuisine is not your thing, don’t worry. There is plenty of all-time favourites for you to fall back on. I liked the addition of the Fish Specials of the Day. Nice touch.<br><br>We ordered three small plates to share as our starters as we were keen to try as much of the food we could. These were delivered in good time, hot, fresh, tasty and well presented.  Our table did get a little overcrowded but that is an exceptional case. Looking around no one else seemed to be so full. Nice touch is the waiter not calling for the main courses till you are ready. I do so hate having my main meal dropped onto the table as soon as the starters are cleared, We had a good chance to spread the meal time out a little.<br><br>Main courses arrived in good time. Once again, hot, fresh, tasty, and well presented. Krys checked on us throughout.<br><br>Unfortunately we did not manage to enjoy dessert. Just too full by then. I did manage to take coffee back to the bar area. This too was hot and well served, good quality.<br><br>We were lucky enough to meet Nick the manager and Sharron his assistant. A really nice personal touch. I look forward to returning to try both the breakfast, and the lunch menu.<br><br>Keep up the great work and the business will take care of itself.
