This restaurant was recommended by a friend some time ago, we finally got there for our 56th Wedding Anniversary. Welcomed as soon as we set foot in the door, shown to a table which we had reserved close to the window at the end of the dining area. Staff were very accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, Pizza is incredible so tasty I had The "Anema e Core" superb, didn't know wether to eat it or take a photo it was so beautiful. My wife had the Lasagna lovely and fresh and very tasty. Sweets were also excellent. Coupled with a glass of Merlot, oh and I forgot to mention the Garlic Bread starter which we were told one portion would be enough for two people, and it was. The two ladies on the next table were both of Italian extraction, you can't get a better recommendation than that.

The portions can vary from an expensive, very tasty but small Veal dish to a Pizza that would double as a bicycle wheel - not in taste but size. The Italian staff are hard working and will do almost anything to please. A slight niggle if you are in a large party is that the food is delivered by 'dumb waiter' from the kitchen upstairs so meals will arrive in two's making the service rather long from the first dish to the last at the table. Overall it was a wonderful evening with authentic Italian dishes served by a great staff.

Literally stumbled upon this Italian corner in Bolton Rd. and I couldn't be luckier. Pizza is amazing as well as lasagna and a mind-blowing mushroom cream on scaloppina that basically takes your tastebuds to the planet of taste. Staff are amazingly skilled and friendly!
I strongly recomemend this family-run restaurant: you'll feel home either if you're Italian or not!

The staff were amazingly friendly and gave us details of some of their "family recipes" included on the extensive menu. The food was outstanding - my main course of prawns and mushrooms in a cream sauce with spaghetti was a homemade family recipe from Napoli passed down through the generations and was delicious. My fiancee had a blue cheese/gorgonzola tagliatelle which was equallyas delicious. The wine, too, is excellent.
Also, the prices are very reasonable for all dishes and drinks. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The staff all very helpful and friendly. The service is impeccable, and the food is freshly prepared and very tasty indeed. There is, of course, no feeling of being rushed, and nothing seems too much trouble. I can recommend this for a romantic evening, or a place to have a truly convivial evening with friends.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Eastbourne for a couple of nights and decided to try this restaurant.
Food was exceptional and the staff were amazing too.
Would highly recommend a visit. In my honest opinion it's the best pizza I have ever had! My boyfriend also enjoyed his calzone.
For pudding one of the lovely waiters recommended Affogato which is a light desert made with coffee and vanilla ice cream which was delicious.
We would highly recommend 5******+

Totally enjoyed our meal here and can comfortably say one of the best pizza's I've had in the UK! Prepared and cooked beautifully 👌🏻

It looks like a very small cellar from the outside, but, like Dr Who's Tardis, is much bigger inside, light and spacious. The chairs are comfortable and the tables well spaced. The background music was very quiet; if only it were so quiet in other restaurants!
Pleasant staff who obviously enjoy the work, especially the charming young Italian women.
We have just returned from a week in Italy where we had some excellent meals. Anema e Core is as good as any of them. I was pleased to find pumpkin ravioli, one of my favourites, but as a regional dish it is not available everywhere in Italy - but it is in Eastbourne.

Always passing this restaurant as it’s a short walk from my location. We never dreamed of going in as it looks so drab from the outside.
But we have been recommended by many to try it.
What a wonderful surprise especially if you go to the rear seating area light clean and modern.
First very nice welcome by all members of staffThe menu was interesting and the items we ordered were well cooked and presented.
Must mention the deserts some different items that you don’t see on other menus, the items we ordered were very well presented and tasted good
Service good and not over the top
We recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.

We have visited here twice in the past fortnight. .....once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals have been absolutely delicious. The family run restaurant produces authentic Italian food at very reasonable prices. The Father is the chef and his daughter runs front of house. .....she is an absolute delight, welcoming and warm and nothing is too much trouble. If we lived nearer we would eat here all the time! We will be back!!

You couldn't leave a bad comment about Anema e cora, if you have you were not actually in the same place we just had lunch in..
This is food made and served with lashings of Italian family love.
Simply can not be beaten.
Even when we go to Italy.

How have I not been to this little gem of a restaurant before. The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was simply delicious. The prices are reasonable and although the place was busy it didn't feel crowded. This is definitely now our go to Italian restaurant in town.

Can add little to others comments except to say that this is a family operation, typically italian and they put into it exactly what the name says: "heart and soul"

We ate here last night having eaten at the 'old' restaurant on a few occasions.
The food remains just as perfect and the new restaurant is magnificent. The customer service is excellent-we were amazed that the staff remembered us and welcomed us like old
friends. They even helped my husband with his limited Italian when he was determined to order in Italian! This place is truly a gem of a place --I only wish we lived nearer as we would visit more often and it would be great to share such a fantastic place with friends.
The best Pizza and Pasta we have had since our trip to Italy.

Eastbourne teams with Italian restaurants,. As you walk the streets near the seafront you’re assailed with ‘Il Restaurants’, pizzerias, and many other enticements to eat in ‘little Italy’. However there is only one genuine Italian restaurant in the town – run by an Italian family, cooking genuine Italian food in the way that only they know how. That restaurant is Anema e Core on the Bolton Road. Here you will find the real McCoy – genuine spaghetti, Bolognese sauce, carbonara, pastas and pizzas.
Forget Dominos with their factory approach to producing food – come here and eat a real, genuine Italian meal! We ate here in early July this year, and I can honestly say that it was the best meal we’ve eaten in a restaurant this year. The staff were helpful yet unobtrusive, on hand if advice were needed. We’re off to Sorrento later this year and they even gave us good advice about restaurants to try whilst we’re there! We’re most grateful and will be following up their suggestions. Thanks for a lovely meal – we will be back.

This is a place where the directors from the big restaurants need to visit to see what they are not doing right.
A family run place and you can feel it.
I booked here 8 months in advance to make sure we had a table for my wife's birthday. Once we arrived they knew who we were and instantly wished my wife happy birthday.
Once we were seated (it was a lovely evening)so we sat outside they brought out a lovely hand written card and a balloon (how lovely). We usually eat out on birthdays and have never had such great effort from any restaurant or hotel anywhere.
The food and wine were exceptionally priced the food was lovely. We ordered a sea food pasta and asked before ordering if it genuinely was a sea food pasta (if had a good amount of seafood rather than a bowl of pasta and a few token bits of seafood)when the dish came out WOW! Wish I had taken a photo.
The service was exceptional and so were all the staff.
When we were leaving it was lovely to see all the staff and say goodbye to all including the chef.
I can't rate this place highly enough. We will be back time and time again. Even though we live in London I think every time we are at the south coast I will be making my reservation and I suggest you do too.
What a lovely family run restaurant. Great atmosphere. Hope to go back soon. Totally recommend.

My wife and I visited the old restaurant twice last year, and we really looked forward to eating in the new premises. We were not disappointed - the food and service is second to none. We were greeted like regulars - Lia said she remembered us and what we had to eat! We made sure we got a booking for the last night of our holiday when our daughter and her partner came down, and we all enjoyed a lovely meal. All the staff are wonderful, and Lia gave us all a hug when we left. We can't wait for next year's holiday so we can eat here again. Keep it up - you're the best!

Have visited Eastbourne for many, many years for the Tennis and other visits. Without doubt best Italian Restaurant and is there any better restaurant? Wonderful family run, authentic Southern Italian food and Italian hospitality. First visit yet we were treated like regulars. Front of house in other restaurants take note, smile, pleased you have chosen our restaurant....
For all that, we eat out for the food, absolutely wonderful.Price...amazing for the food. So called 'Italian' restaurants, particularly chains, take note. No loud music, we eat out to talk with our friends and family, not fight the music! Background yes and in an Italian Restaurant, Italian music!. Number one on next visit for sure.

As a family we love great food. Eastbourne boasts numerous restaurants, both through eating in them and through my work - which means I see the kitchens!! I can safely state many of these are average. Unless it has a 5star hygiene rating I can assure you you'd not be impressed by a lot of them. As a result this has meant traveling further afield if we were to get a great meal served from a clean and well managed kitchen.
Having had the pleasure to both eat in and work for Anema e core I can say that this place has an immaculate kitchen, the fresh food deliveries are from local suppliers and is fresh daily from fish to vegetables. All the breads and doughs are made fresh onsite daily.
I've seen it all come and go and I like what I see very much.
Then comes the food, this is a family run business, such a lovely family, who care passionately about providing truly authentic Italian food. Forget everywhere else, this place is the real deal. Mum is the the boss in the kitchen, preparing pastas and other dishes with her husband. Daughter is front of house and daughters fiancé is the pizzaiolo. Each person within their role does their bit spot on, the best pastas etc and the best pizzas anywhere!
We no longer have to travel for a seriously good Italian meal.
It is a testament to their success and reputation that they are busy, you will probably need to book in advance and even then you may not get a table because... It is that good!! Don't be put off or put out.. It's worth it.
Thank you Anena e core for bringing something special to our town. Now don't change a thing or do go anywhere please..

Where to start??
The hospitality: is amazing esp. the way they go about with children. The food / pizza: is fresh, tasty and appetising. Wine: good choice.
The ambiance: inviting and modern. The garden - little Italy. Price: very affordable. Very good value for your money.
We've been here twice and will come again when in Eastbourne.
