I don’t know about you, but I had a great week. Business, personal, health… the whole shebang!
Let’s start with the fun part. I was in Dubai! (see my photo skills to the right ;) I flew back from Dubai on Sunday afternoon, so that counts as last week, right? If you have never been, it is a must see. I went on a glass bottom boat ride in an aquarium in a mall! What? They were also host to one of the largest living crocodiles in the world. http://www.thedubaiaquarium.com/en/Explore/underwater-zoo/KingCroc.aspx Needless to say, the Dubai Mall was over the top in every aspect. I could go on and on about the visit, but the aquarium was the highlight. Also, I found the city to be a very unusual place. The clash of westernization with the traditional Muslim values meant you would see women strutting around in bikinis then a woman completely covered by a burkha. In addition, they have built up the area almost magically in the desert, so the skyline could give Chicago a run for their money (see our twitter cover photo: https://twitter.com/ukfactotum) However, the buildings aren’t full, so there’s no traffic. Ferrari’s and Maserati’s were every 5th car. But again, it seemed so empty. No matter the season, places like London, Paris, and Chicago have a frenetic vibe and traffic that makes you want to do more than honk at someone. So it seemed surreal to have the metropolitan landscape without the energy. Overall, my experience was one that I will not likely forget in this lifetime.
Ok, let’s do a fun sandwich. I started with fun. Next is business, so I’ll end with more fun.
We have a new coverage plan in the works! Since starting my position here at Factotum, I have been charged with thinking up new ways to brand us as well as finding services that cater toward our clients’ specific needs. Here’s my line of thinking. Our current clients don’t have to worry about their reception staff being sick, wanting to take an impromptu holiday, or missing a day because of a sick child. It’s a non-issue because we have a team ready to take their calls at a moment’s notice. What if we could provide that service to businesses don’t need us every day, just to cover the occasional holiday or sick day? By the end of this week, we will be rolling out the Short-Term Call Cover Plan. I can’t give away too many details yet, but I think this will help a lot of organizations that only need us in a pinch. I promise, it will be at a price comparable to our current rates. We’re not into price gouging just because you have an emergency. After all, life happens. Give me a call if you’re interested or have any helpful ideas to put toward the cause. 07739 637041.
Back to the fun…
This week, the goal is to work out a little more. I have my 10 year high school reunion, and, as these things go, it’s a time to brag about where you are in life/show up looking fit. I’m quite happy with my job, so it’s time to get serious about looking fabulous. I am a diehard cookie fan, so here is a healthy cookie recipe for you:
Healthy cookies - 3 mashed bananas (ripe), 1/3 cup apple sauce, 2 cups oats, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup dark chocolate, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon. preheat oven to 350F (176C) degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
We shall see if this satiates my cookie cravings… Also, I will be dancing my little heart out this week! I have been a dancer since I was about 10, and nothing can make me happier. So this week I will be Lindy Hopping my way to fabulousness. (as well as the obligatory strength training to fix the flabby arms n such)
I hope you all have a great week!
