Registered Charity No. 1151518
Joshua Wilson (aka SuperJosh!) was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of just three and a half. Life saving brain surgery left Josh in a coma for three months before he started his journey to recovery.
The surgery was very complicated due to the location of the tumour on the brain stem and unfortunately left Josh with complex physical needs, scoliosis, epilepsy, joint problems and a brain injury. Josh could not communicate verbally but his cheeky personality shined through in his facial expressions and simple signs such as the thumbs-up, which is where the inspiration for the charity's logo and "thumbraisers" came from.
Joshua Wilson sadly passed away in November 2014 aged 14. His mum Dawn, supporters and patrons of the charity are passionate about continuing the charity in his name and helping to improve the lives of other children suffering from brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities.
Why does my donation matter?
Colin and Dawn, Josh's parents, had to privately fund all of his care due to DLA funding restrictions. Thanks to your support and generosity, Colin and Dawn were able to raise £28,000 for building work, specialised equipment, a medical bath and a ceiling track hoist.
As well as providing specialist equipment, the charity also offers advice, advocacy, grants and financial solutions.
Any donation you make will be most gratefully received and goes directly. You can donate any amount you wish through PayPal, a standing order or direct debit - just visit the website for more details.
Currently, The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity has raised an astounding £150,000 and this amount continues to grow through the hard work of Josh's family and Thumbraisers.
How can I get involved?
