THE BEST shop fronts in the city have been unveiled in the Dressed for Success awards run by Brighton & Hove City Council to help local independent shops boost trade.
As part of the scheme, 42 independent shops in the city received one to one expert training in how to make the most of their window displays and 38 entered in the public competition.
The scheme is part of ongoing work by the city council's economic development team to support local businesses.
A total of 3,465 votes were submitted in a competition to find shoppers' favourite festive shop front.
The winners were announced on Tuesday 10 January at an event at the Brighton Dome Foyer Bar. Dolly Dagger was named Overall Best Dressed and also scooped another award for Most Theatrical. Their creative effort has earned them a year’s free membership with Visit Brighton who will help publicise the shop.
Cllr Davey said: “We have one of the UK’s best collections of independent shops and the council is keen to help them survive and thrive.
“The designs were of such a high standard and brought our shopping streets alive over the festive period. Congratulations to Dolly Dagger and the rest of the winners”.
