The fingerpost is a classy, relaxed and cosy environment. Perfect for a midweek escape and a late night drink. They have a brilliant range of wines, whiskies and ales.
Not only is it inviting inside but it has wonderful canal side views. The staff are friendly and very easy going.
The ales are kept very well, rich flavours!
I highly recommend it, also the decor is wonderful.

Our first time here. Excellent food, beer, great value, dog friendly. Great service. Lovely location overlooking the canal and common. We will be back.

Staying locally for a few days, we called in here for lunch after walking our dog on the common next door. First impressions were good. Clean, nice decor and a friendly atmosphere. The lunchtime menu prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. I had the gammon and my wife the cod we both really enjoyed our meals, The beer was tasty and obviously well kept, and the service was friendly and excellent.
We're not from these parts but we pass through from time to time so we will definitely be back. We're told that this pub has had a chequered history but we really hope that the new management here achieve the success that their wonderful efforts deserve. I wish my local was as good!.

We have been here a few times and always left before eating. We only live 2
Mins walk away. Always felt cold in both temperature and atmosphere when we have been before. We were greeted warmly and the choice of ales was good :) we stayed and ate and tried two of the starters of squid and slow cooked belly pork :) they were great :) for mains we went standard with steak and fish. Both were nice. We will be back and I will have the squid again, perfectly cooked :) landlord and landlady were very welcoming and we will be back :)
