Just visited with my family and was very disappointed. My daughter in law and myself had Lamb Kleftico. I was being treated and didn’t want to complain but the lamb was so tough it was inedible. The potatoes were just about warm and the other vegetables (2 pieces of carrot, beans and red cabbage) were cold. I did mention it to the young lady who cleared the table but she didn’t pass any comment. If I had been there by myself I wouldn’t have paid.

Food and menu quite basic. Desserts all include chocolate not a great choice. Cheesecake very dry and tasted more like a cake than cheesecake.

Absolute hidden gem. Best pub / restaurant for miles. Came here for a Sunday roast about 1.5 years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the food was considering the value. 3 courses for less than £17 and absolutely no complaints. Although we don’t visit as much as we would like, we haven’t been anywhere else for a roast dinner since. We’ve recommended to family and friends and have been a number of times with family when they have visited who all have the same opinion. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere

We have been to The Fingerpost a good few times now for lunch, never have we had even the smallest thing to complain about. The welcome we receive is warm and genuine. The food is excellent, the place itself is always clean and it's situated in a lovely area by the canal.
Bonus points for being so very dog friendly, won't be long before we are back again, thank you.

First visit to this establishment and didn’t disappoint,
Ordered 2 course Sunday dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed. Good value for money, warm with plenty of veg and meat - gravy was delicious.

Fabulous place, cosy and romantic, right next to the canal, with rolling green pastures, watch the barges go by. Great ambiance, food is great and made with fresh produce. Traditional pub food with a twist. Would recommend you give it a try. Weekends are busy so book a table or go in the week.Food: 5/5  |  Service: 5/5  |  Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
