We have been casual users of the Fingerpost for many years but never eaten there under the current owners.We were warmly greeted by a pleasant young lady who served us drinks,prices comparable with similar pubs.We hadn't planned to eat but having looked at the menu gave it a try. The food arrived freshly cooked and in good time and although portions weren't massive it was very nice.The smaller tapas dishes seemed popular and looked very nice.After eating we sat outside on the decking area,again much improved by the new owners. After such a nice visit it would be a shame to mention any negatives but do feel the dining experience would be enhanced by the doors being reintroduced separating the bar and dining area,this would ensure diners were not subjected to the foul language been used by a small group of middle aged men in the bar.

Food was lovely too many chips putting fish on top made them greasy, but burger was fabulous. Staff were all lovely and friendly and very cheap for what we got thank you

Daughter and I called in because we just love canal pubs.
This was a first time visit, and we have to say a return visit is a definite.Food, I had an Autumn nut roast, roast potatoes/parsnips/carrots.
Nut roast was the best I have tasted, gravy very tasty.Daughter, had a roast turkey dinner, roast potatoes/carrots/parsnip.
Plenty on the plate, she said, i really enjoyed that.Staff talkative/friendly/smiley.
Well worth a visit. highly recommended.also I strongly recommend the strongbow original, beautiful.
