Sunday 23rd December Festival of Winter Walks2018

With our Christmas preparation well underway, if not actually completed, the Sunday before the big day is a fine time to get out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise. Walking is an inclusive pastime, so whatever one’s cultural background the Festival of Winter Walks is directed to everyone regardless of their age or background or level of ability. With the Country’s most welcoming countryside, plus our delightful Towns and Cities, we are blessed with plenty of choice, and if you needed another good reason walking is one of the healthiest pursuits and it is free!

Friday 14th December 2018 is Christmas Jumper Day in Support of Save the Children,

Why not join in the fun and don a warm Christmassy Jumper in support of this very worthwhile Charity?Who needs an excuse to dress up and have fun ? We all do! Winter is upon us and it is getting frosty out, so a cheery Jumper to wrap up in is just fabulous. Thousands of people the length and breadth of the UK will be sharing the joy of Christmas by wearing a Christmas Jumper for the day at work and in many public places.

National Anger Awareness Week 2018 Starts on 1st December

Anger is an emotion that everyone experiences in life due a vast array of stimulants some people find anger harder to control than others.

Headaches – Look at the alternatives before you pop another pill.

More than one million people in Britain may be suffering from constant, crippling headaches because they are taking too many painkillers, experts say. The pills people take to relieve headaches and migraines may be making things much worse, according to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in guidance to the health service for England and Wales.
As many as one in 50 people suffer continual headaches because of “medication overuse”, NICE reports. The problem begins with taking the odd painkiller for tension headaches or migraines, which usually works. But some people take the pills more and more often, until they are on tablets for more than half the days in a month. NICE says that if this goes on for more than three months the medication ends up causing the problem it is intended to cure.
