A great visit to Hestercombe Gardens today with a group of 39, from the planning of the day with Caroline to the day itself everything worked perfectly. Our gardener guides gave us such an interesting tour in the afternoon relating some of the history of how the gardens came to be, from around 1750 to today, and interesting details of the families that have owned the estate. We had these tours after some had lunch in The Stables (really good menu) and others ate their picnics in the beautiful gardens. We had plenty of time to explore as much as we could of the various gardens and everyone we met was friendly and helpful, a lovely relaxed feeling about the place - there were plenty of places to sit and take in the wonderful views. A place to visit more than once for sure.

Only went to the cafe and plant area. Service extremely slow in cafe as only one person serving both the ice-cream kiosk and the cafe. Plant centre assistant very helpful and knowledgeable.

Wonderful experience for our 3 1/2 year old great granddaughter. Plenty of experiences with plants/flowers and waterfalls. And she learnt how to look for Trolls under bridges. No Trolls clip clop over safely, if there is one just pay him a penny then clip clop over 🙂🙂

We took 4 children to the gardens and house yesterday. The bee trail was brilliant for them. Plus the hive activity place. The waggle dances and the badge making was fantastic for children. And we can go back for free until end of sept. 🙂

The house has only recently been opened to the public and there is only an art display to see.Even so it is a fine building and worth a visit. The formal gardens are really nice and the walk around the less formal grounds is fine.Definitely worth a visit and staff very friendly.
