A wonderful garden. Something for everyone, with formal planted gardens, but also excellent walking up through the combe to the far end of the estate. Dog friendly too! 🐕

Nice quiet place to visit. Even though it's winter, the plants are lovely. Plenty of room for children and dogs to run around

Always a joy to visit no matter the weather. I wish they would ditch (or recycle) plastic cutlery and take out cups used for events

I found area beautiful in which Hestercombe sits was lovely. There is a lot that they could do with the gardens, which I guess comes down to funding.
I will be honest and say I was a little disappointed with the Christmas light display, but perhapsI have been spoilt with some of the other displays I have had insight to.e.g. Wakehurst Place, Kew, Eltham Palace.
I also found the general condition of the house very sad. No furnishings, damp smell and no art displays. Perhaps Herstercombe could really do with a big cash injection or a wealthy investor like The Newt in Somerset.

Lovely illuminations - not a very long trail, so it was over too quickly but very well designed

Great festive lights in the garden! Coffee shop on arrival doing take aways so you can walk round with a fresh cup of coffee or mulled wine. Coffee shop serving drinks, cake and food at the end the route. Took about an hour slow walking the route but some really hypnotic lighting!

Went to see the Lights at Hestercombe Gardens. Good, but expensive. Food in cafe was also expensive.
We think Hestercombe members should be given discount.

Much bigger than last year. A bit of Christmas music would have given a more of a seasonal feel. Clever lighting especially at the waterfalls. Well done.

We visited for Father Christmas which was well organised and prompt. Last year you could wander round the lit gardens with the kids going for free if you paid for two adult tickets. They didn't have this offer this year and we didn't think the price was fair for the children so we didn't bother. We will also find a different Father Christmas to visit next year so future revenue lost too. Short sighted revenue grabbing IMHO

Went to the Christmas display at the beginning of December, really nice walk around. Only a couple of things I'd say, first is it would be so much better if there was music as you walked around and secondly its a tad expensive for what you get. It was £25 for 2 people and took 30mins to walk around. Definitely worth doing though as it is beautiful.
