Lovely gardens and walks around the estate. Dogs welcome on short leads. You can buy food to feed the fish and ducks (20p per bag). However, the swan likes the food too, so just be aware of their presence.
Terrain is hilly in places but it's all on a gravel /woodland path, however, not all paths are wheelchair/pushchair friendly.
Plenty of options to eat and prices are reasonable. We didn't go into the house so can't comment on that.
Adequate parking but from what I could see there were no charging points. There is a place to buy plants conveniently located by the car park.

The gardens are beautiful but there wasn't much to see in the house. I prefer house's that are furnished. This one was very empty.

A real treat for us. Really picked the right day, glorious sunshine wall to wall. One can obviously see there is more work required but the work completed to date is excellent. Hope I live long enough to see it finished. The day started so well with the reception staff super friendly and knowledgeable. The gardens were a haven of peace and tranquility and to finish had a first class meal in the restaurant...( what ever your paying the chef...it's not enough). Actually we finished in the second hand bookshop. What a find !!! Definitely worth going back just for that.
Thank you all so much for making it such a memorable day.

Lovely place with plenty of grounds to explore.
Fantastic place for kids, old and young. We visited the cafe, which was busy but could accommodate us outside. The food was lovely and plentiful, staff friendly too. The main house is stunning with a lovely shop and bookshop.
Spent the whole day there. This is our second time visiting, and we will definitely be back again!

Wow. Really lovely. The weather was kind to us. The walks were beautiful and we had a very pleasant soup at lunchtime in The Stables.
Loved the formal gardens and the Orangery.

After visiting Hestercombe a few times over the years just for a cream tea or a light lunch, I finally decided to walk around the gardens! And I'm very happy I did. It's a very relaxing and tranquil place to be. There are a few ponds and a nice waterfall as well as natural looking planted areas and the formal gardens to enjoy. You can buy bags of food to feed the various ducks and we also saw a beautiful swan and a couple of rabbits too. I enjoyed it so much I have decided to become an annual member so I can appreciate the gardens as they change throughout the year

We live close to Hestercombe so it's ideal for a spur-of-the moment afternoon out. Nice cakes in the cafe too.
