Shropshire Handmade and Vintage Christmas Fair is returning to the headquarters of award-winning Shropshire-based caravan and motorhome dealership, Salop Leisure, in Shrewsbury with even more stalls this year.

The popular annual event was such a success last year that the organiser Carrie Hughes, owner of Shropshire Handmade and Vintage, has signed up 50 exhibitors for the fair at Salop Leisure’s showroom on November 21 and 22.

The stalls will be selling a wide range of handmade and vintage craft and giftware from Shropshire and the borders as the fair is expected to fill the showroom and a marquee.

Carrie Hughes, owner of Shropshire Handmade and Vintage, said the Christmas Fair would give the public an opportunity to buy a wide range of unique gifts handmade in Shropshire and the bordering counties. She is confident the event will attract thousands of visitors over the weekend.

“The event is based in Shropshire and designed to support county crafts businesses,” she said. “It’s great that Shropshire businesses are working together to stage this fair.

“It was such a brilliant event last year that most of the stalls were booked up by June. It’s a great venue, which is easy to get to and parking an entry are free.”

Salop Leisure will be launching its new Santa’s Grotto at the fair where there will be children’s workshops making Christmas decorations. The popular grotto will be open every weekend until Christmas as well as the four days leading up to December 25.

There will also be Christmas bellringers on the Saturday and carol singers on the Sunday to get shoppers in the festive mood.  Specialist plant centre Love Plants will have Christmas trees, decorations and wreaths for sale and Love Coffee restaurant is planning a range of festive treats.

Tony Bywater, Salop Leisure’s chairman, said he was delighted by the growth of the Christmas Fair, which was a good example of Shropshire companies working together to boost business in the run up to the festive season.
