Last weekend’s Shrewsbury Flower Show was an outstanding success for one of the main sponsors as well as for the organisers.

An award winning caravan and motorhome dealership Salop Leisure, which has supported the event for 30 years, enjoyed one of its busiest ever shows, with quality sales leads more than 100 per cent up on last year.

Sister business, Love Plants, the specialist plant centre located at Salop Leisure’s Emstrey headquarters, also reported a 30 per cent increase in sales.

Tony Bywater, Salop Leisure’s chairman, congratulated the hard working show organisers and described the two-day event as “superb” and “something really special”.

“We are proud to be a main sponsor of Shrewsbury Flower as it is, in our opinion, the most prestigious event held in the town each year,” he said. “It provides a great opportunity to show off the town to thousands of people who visit the show from all over the UK and even overseas.”

He revealed that some of the quality enquiries for touring caravans, motorhomes and caravan holiday homes had already been converted into sales this week and was sure many more would follow in the coming weeks.

The eye-catching Love Plants stand was likened to a show garden by many of the impressed visitors who have since paid a visit to the plant centre at Salop Leisure.

“I cannot understand why more local businesses, including car dealerships, don’t have trade stands at the show, as it’s a great way to make contact with existing and new customers,” he added.
