Residents are being invited to experience an unforgettable evening of theatre, refreshments and community spirit as Fizz & Canapés in The Dingle returns on Friday 4 September, from 6pm to 8pm.
Hosted by the Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Bernie Bentick, the event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of The Dingle in Quarry Park. Guests will enjoy a glass of fizz and canapés while following a magical promenade performance by Shropshire Youth Theatre, who will bring scenesinspired by The Wind in the Willows to life.The evening will also be supported with lighting by award-winning professional light artist Andy McKeown, with music and effects from Rebel Evolution, helping tocreate an atmospheric setting for this unique outdoor performance.
Tickets are £20 per person, withallprofit from the eventsupporting the Mayor of Shrewsbury's chosen charities for 2026/27: Little Stars, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, Shropshire Mental Health Support and the Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation.
The event continues a growing tradition between the Mayor's Charity Appeal and Shropshire Youth Theatre. The talented young performers have supported the Mayor's charities for the past three years, delighting audiences with performances from A Midsummer Night's Dream in 2024 and Alice in Wonderland in 2025, helping to raise valuable funds for local causes. This year's production ofscenes fromThe Wind in the Willowspromises another magical evening in one of Shrewsbury's most iconic green spaces.
