A woman with 18 years’ experience of selling newspaper and magazine advertising has joined the marketing team at award winning caravan, motorhome and campervan dealership, Salop Leisure.

Nikki Jardine, from Frodesley, near Shrewsbury, worked for the Shropshire Star, Shrewsbury Chronicle and Shropshire Magazine for 18 years, rising to regional advertising manager, before taking voluntary redundancy to start a family.

For the past year, she has been a customer service assistant with Water Babies in the West Midlands. She and her husband, Stuart, have two daughters, Lily, aged eight and Poppy, aged four.

She is now working closely with assistant marketing manager Ed Glover to promote Salop Leisure, sister companies Love Plants and Love Coffee and caravan parks across Mid Wales and the Heart of England.

Nikki explained that she approached Salop Leisure about job vacancies because she knew the company well from her time with the newspapers. An interview was arranged with joint managing director Mark Bebb and the rest, as they say, is history.

“I have had a good working relationship with Salop Leisure over the years,” she said. “I knew it was good company to work for, was local and had a lot of exciting things happening in its 50th year in business. The part-time role allows me to strike the best work-life balance.

“I am really enjoying the job, which is very interesting and varied. With lots of new ideas and nice people to work with, I think the company has great potential for the next 50 years.”
