I came across Howdens Insurance through a networking group and a great guy representing them there, Dave (the Insurance Ninja).
He got me in touch with one of the team and I ended up with a better price on my home insurance (even though I already did shop around and thought I'd found the best one). Much easier to run through the options with these guys than it is using one of the comparison websites - and you know that you'll get a company that is a genuine, reputable and supportive insurer if anything ever goes wrong.
Breege (who placed my cover) was attentive, supportive and clearly a very capable member of the team - understood my needs, saved me a lot of time having to go through the questions again and again with insurers, or spending huge amounts of time on the comparison websites researching each company to know they're actually a good one.
Overall, not only have I saved time through handing it off to Howdens to sort, but I've also saved money too - couldn't ask for a better deal.

I needed house insurance for my mother’s home as it was unoccupied whilst being sold. I started using Howdens Chelmsford for commercial purposes because I wanted someone more knowledgeable than me to go through the technical requirements and price options to make sure I am fully covered. I have probably been using them for 4 years now. I like the fact that I can go talk 1-1 to a real person if I want to. I have also used Howdens for some private / domestic purposes where the requirements are a bit challenging for the same reason. Compared to an online service, I find the little extra I might be paying good value for the peace of mind it gives me.
