I have all my insurance with Howden and always find their personnel to be really professional and pleasant. In addition THEY ALWAYS PICK UP THE PHONE and you speak to a human. (See below for my experiences with Hari and Gaya from the Wimbledon office and more recently Cameron from the Carterton office:-
I renewed my car insurance with Hari from the Wimbledon Office and found him to be really professional, patient and helpful.
Similarly, Gaya at the Wimbledon office was fantastic when it came to renewing my house insurance which I had some concerns about.
More recently Cameron at the Carterton office, who specialise in travel insurance, was excellent: He gave me time, was enthusiastic, explained things fully, went step by step through existing medical conditions, clarified so many issues for me and was good humoured throughout.

I called in at Howden, Tunbridge Wells, on two occasions last week (wk beg Feb 2nd) for advice on my house and contents insurance which is due for renewal this month. Both times I spoke to Mr Samuel Sheppard who was extremely helpful, patient, friendly and courteous. He found for me an alternative company with the same cover and a good saving in cost. He followed this with a phone call to remind me to cancel my previous policy in good time. Howden has considerably increased my opinion of the value of insurance agents !!

Spoke to someone, Andrew Francis, in the UK not from a call centre, in speaking I was able to taylor my policy to my car/needs. Andrew said if things change in the future ring him and he will assist.
Also like the portal which you can download, it stores all your documents and you are able to claim through it.
