Using Howdens for my Van insurance was a great experience, the phone handlers were very helpful and guided me through the process. I opted to work through Howdens for a campervan conversion - as not all providers do this and needed assistance.
Overall they gave me great service and a quote I was happy to proceed with - would happily continue using them for my Van / Campervan needs!

Having previously used their predecessor, Gade Insurance, I found Howden unnecessarily complicated. Gade sent a reminder (car insurance) with a recommendation then we phoned, accepted & paid, they sent the insurance details. Howden email a great deal of bumph which takes time to sort. Finding the letter at the end with their recommendation I rang them. There wasn’t “anyone to take my call” though I was still taken through all the details of car & drivers etc. I said I would ring back which I did but once again had to go through all the information they already had. It was very frustrating. At the end the quote was less than in their letter - fine but confusing. I’m not sure I want to go through that every time so may look for another broker who makes it easier as Gade Insurance did - such a shame they sold up!

We moved across from Devon Direct as it was taken over by Howdens so we were a little worried but there was no need as we were well looked after and the personal touch of phone calls etc made it easier to understand that emails.
