Just to be honest and clear, I have just renewed a car insurance policy this December, and I'm struggling to understand why my policy almost doubled. I really like A Plan, but in the long run, brokers have to offer a direct service, that is competitive with the needs of their customers and pricing that is realistic, nice people to deal with, costs that need scrutiny. I have a 16 year old mercedes (£1,500/2,000 value) that I was quoted as £815 for insurance purposes!! I'll be 61 years old in June 21, I had to negotiate a couple of things on the policy sent to me which were incorrect, and managed to bring price down to £615!! I'm not blaming A plan, although that amount appears too high.

I have now been insured with A-Plan for my Ford Ranger for two years, and the staff at their Eastleigh branch could not have been more helpful, polite or efficient. Communication is fantastic and I always get to speak to a knowledgeable and cheerful staff member in person with no automated phone menus or being kept on hold for an eternity, as with so many other companies. It may be possible no doubt, to find cheaper alternatives for certain types of insurance cover (although they are really competitive anyway) but I would much rather have the human contact and be able to chat through any issue directly. If they say they will call you back at a specific date and time, that is exactly what you get and you never need to chase anything.
If you are looking for polite, cheerful and knowledgeable people you can talk to, who will deal with all your insurance issues quickly and efficiently, then I highly recommend A-Plan.
