I called A plan as I did not want to renew on line. I much prefer a two way process. The agent could not have been more helpful. He was very thorough and listened carefully to my requirements. It took a bit longer than I would have liked but better that than being offered cover which was not appropriate. Excellent customer service from the Bournemouth branch and Thomas Houlding in particular.

I asked A Plan Insurance for a quote for my home insurance. With prices rising I wanted a competitive quote. They were very helpful and efficient. After talking through what I was looking for and also receiving some good advice I decided to take out my policy with them which also saved me money even more than the comparison sites. Excellent service and I will definitely go back when my car insurance is due. Friendly and efficient service all round.

As far as rearranging my car insurance was concerned, the service was excellent as always. Any possible options were described to me, but no pressure was exerted to change my mind when I declined them.
The missing 5th star is due to the fact that I couldn't renew my house insurance through A-Plan (which I had done for many years) at the end of 2019 as I informed them that we had water ingress into the cellar due to the exceptionally high water table locally, during those very wet months. Within the A-Plan portfolio no cover could be found at a reasonable cost so I had to sort that out myself.
I am an A-Plan customer of many years standing now, I and I intend to remain one if at all possible.

A Wobble Steadied...Being a driver aged 89 in a time of rising insurance premiums and Covid is, I recognise, challenging at renewal time. A-Plan made a slight wobble at the beginning (too much detail to go into here) but in the end I was reasonably satisfied with the deal entered into. For people like me, simplicity is what matters - it is very difficult for us (especially if we have some hearing difficulties) to ring round x alternative insurers in the hope of getting a better deal. I was surprised that A-Plan, for all your size, only trade with a certain group of companies and you were not able to test the market with the others on my behalf. This seems anti-competitive on somebody's part and needs remedying.
