Thomas contacted me requesting if he could quote me for my car insurance, due to me having left Howden for a better quote a few years back. One time I did have all our vehicles insured with Howden but the prices kept going up. Thomas should be nominated employee of the year. He chased up several new quotes, spent sometime looking then came up with much more reasonable figure, thus I am now pleased to be back with Howden.

I needed unoccupied property insurance after my dad went into care and I got an online quote from another well promoted home insurer. I read all the documents and called them when I noted inconsistencies between the documents and the website mainly arising from the insurer using one policy booklet for different levels of cover, which shouldn’t be allowed in my opinion as it causes confusion. I particularly wanted to insure against malicious damage and damage from theft or attempted theft but the call centre staff could not reassure me that this would be covered so I started to look elsewhere. I saw an advert for Howdens and rang them for a quote and this was a completely different experience with everything explained clearly. I still had some concerns after reading the documents and emailed the agent I had spoken to and he emailed back soon after with the reassurance I needed.
I can’t comment on the claims process and hopefully won’t have to claim but I can say that Howdens seem committed to providing clear information about their products which was much better than the well promoted insurer I contacted initially.
