The company conducted an hour long , thorough interview over a very poor quality telephone line. I complained about having to give my card details over the phone, although I later received assurances about security. I would have preferred sending details by phone keypad which would have been hidden from the interviewer.

I returned home after 27 years overseas, and was expectibng to be hit hard with car insurance, given that I had not built up any no claims discount in the UK, despite driving company cars during all of that time. The personnel at Howden went out of their way to secure the best deals, including one that gave credit for the years of driving, secured with a letter from my overseas employer.
