As usual I received the annual "Pre renewal email" from Howden. And then at a suitable time of day a call from Lewis at the Swindon office. Lewis was honest, friendly and professional. Something many insurers fail to grasp the need for and fail to be.Most are only interested in getting your renewal. When most people I know with the same brand of vehicle are suffering massive increases in insurance cost's, Lewis @ Howdens assured me that they were doing everything they could to maintain similar Premiums to previous years, with the same quality of cover. Even though Tax's and inflation had affected everything. This is certainly a brokerage I would recommend.

I needed to rearrange my home insurance urgently when my previous insurer ceased to provide domestic cover. They did, however, provide several suggestions for suitable insurers, one of which was Howden.
I phoned and was very quickly connected to a most helpful lady. She recorded all my details and within a very short time recommended an insurer who met all my requirements. Not only that, the cost was significantly less than I had previously paid.
The policy documents, etc. arrived promptly as promised.
I would certainly recommend talking to Howden before automatically renewing.

I have used A-Plan (now Howden) for years. They always telephone me when my policies are due, are very helpful and friendly and always get me the best deal possible. I currently have several policies through them and I can highly recommend them to anyone.

Called Howdens yesterday to get a quote for car insurance after having a very positive experience with them recently when we moved our buildings and home contents insurance to them; the person I spoke with then was very helpful indeed, and the same goes for Christopher Ashford yesterday who was really helpful and very patient with this deaf old woman!! Obviously no experience yet of making a claim but top marks for their communication, would recommend them so far.

It was disappointing that I had to waste a lot of time trying to get a better deal than the one for car insurance renewal from Howdens. The initial quote was ridiculously high and when I went in the shop they could only knock a few pounds off. Having found a good deal online I was about to take it up when I thought I would try Howdens again. This time they were more helpful and they came up with something which was far better. Had this price come up with the renewal papers it would have saved us all a lot of time and trouble.
